Ooops .... can  you help me de-mould my interior ....26 Feb 2004 10:05 GMT2
I have a nice low mileage '85 Carrera 3.2 Targa. It's low mileage 'cos
it sits in a garage for much of the winter.
This winter was very wet. I try to take it out every two or three
weeks to dry it out, warm it up and keep the battery full etc. etc.

I can't believe how little information is on alt.autos.porsche.911

Porsche 911 Turbo / 930 Questions25 Feb 2004 23:22 GMT8
I have always loved the Porsche 911 turbo (type 930) cars and am
thinking that now is the time to purchase one for myself.  However, I
have a couple of questions that I'm hoping the experts out there can
answer.  So here it goes:
Advice needed: '99 99624 Feb 2004 05:18 GMT1
I am considering a used 1999 996 (USA).
I am trying to figure out whether all the quirks that I
uncovered are normal, or a sign of neglect.
Specs: 1999 996 Carrera, 6M, 3.4l, 18" rims, mostly basic configuration,
Targa Bar question24 Feb 2004 00:24 GMT1
I'm about to buy an early 80s SC.  I love the car, but I really like
the older 911 aesthetic.  Question - is it possible to replace the
black targa bar with the brushed steel one from the earlier targas?
Does anyone sell a replacement part?  Or is it possible to refinish
The styling of the classic Cabriolet 91119 Feb 2004 21:22 GMT3
I have always found the 911 to be a nice style and in my mind,
when I think porsche I think of the style of the 87 or 89 with the cab
top and the whale tail (the extended, wider wheel well of the turbo
look is also nice).
How likely is it to have success buying a 911, keep for 1 year, then selling it? (like renting for 1 yr)16 Feb 2004 10:04 GMT8
In my mind, I am thinking of ways to start owning a Porsche now
that I finally have some money.  How likely is it to expect to buy a
porsche of the 87 to 89 age and expect to sell it in a year or so for
the same price?
Successor to the current carrera14 Feb 2004 22:02 GMT3
Has anyone any news when the successor to the current carrera - 996 will be
launched?  This year.... next?
Thanks
'79  911SC O2 sensor 10 Feb 2004 03:44 GMT3
I have a '79  911SC that I have a hard time tuning. It has a test pipe and
no O2 sensor. Is there any way I can tune it by the mixture adj. or fool it
to get the mixture right? It smells like it is running rich. No matter how I
adjust the mixture screw it doesn't smell right.
Buying a 91107 Feb 2004 11:33 GMT1
I'm looking to spend around $15-20K to buy a 911 this spring. Right now I'm
just doing research on the best model and year to buy.  I was wondering if
anyone can give their opinion on the best investment year/type to buy.  I
don't want to buy one and then find out that year or style ...

911 SC sitting to long04 Feb 2004 00:24 GMT8
My `82 SC has been sitting in the barn for too long and I suspect that the
pistons may have
become 'stuck' in the barrels. The symptom is that the starter motor
engages, but it just
