Instrument Removal29 Mar 2004 07:11 GMT2
Is there any trick to removing the dash gauges from an 87 targa?  The
Service Manual suggests just prying the gauge from the rubber retaining
ring.  This is not working.  Thanks for any help.

Power Window Problems29 Mar 2004 06:21 GMT1
I have an 87 Cabriolet with power windows that keep blowing fuses - nothing
obvious (that I can find) causes it - I have tried only one window at a
time, making sure I don't hold it in the up position after it is up, etc.
Is this just 'one of the little things' or is there something ...
Caliper Rebuild28 Mar 2004 01:59 GMT3
Has anyone rebuilt their brake calipers?  Is it a reasonable project for a
shade tree mechanic?
Car is a 1980 911SC.
Thanks.
Clutch / gearbox problems27 Mar 2004 03:26 GMT9
Hmm, just put the car in reverse and when I pressed the clutch pedal all
the way to the floor I could hear gears meshing in a not too promising
way. If the pedal is back an inch it seems OK. The gears all engage OK
and there seems no other symptom. This is a 1989 911, it had a new

Lotus Flat Six22 Mar 2004 21:53 GMT14
Tonight at the Minneapolis autoshow, a Lotus salesman told me that Porsche's
flat six engine was/is designed by lotus, and that Lotus designs 65% of the
powerplants used in European automobiles.  When I asked why this had never
been published anywhere he then stated that Porsche and ...

'96 C4 Cab squirrely in the snow08 Mar 2004 02:31 GMT1
Searching several sites & google did not reveal any info on this.
Maybe I'm the only one that's ever experienced the problem (not).  If
you have a link to a good thread please pass it along... Sorry to be
long-winded too but trying to provide adequate info...
DIY 911 repair: what years?05 Mar 2004 06:52 GMT1
I'm considering purchasing a 911 and will be doing all of my own
repairs.  At what model series does this become unreasonable for the
home mechanic?  As a comparison, I presently have been successful with
all repairs major and minor to an '84 BMW 533i.
