I have a 78 911SC with 70000 original miles. It has never given me a days problem for years until yesterday. After driving 10 miles, I started her up to go home. She started, went into the cold-start cycle with a high idle, but when the cold-start cycle ended and she returned

| Buying an abused 911? | 26 May 2004 14:43 GMT | 1 |
I'm looking at an 86 Porsche 911 with higher miles. Besides a little smoke start-up, he car runs strong. The owner did tell me he ran it in an occasional auto-cross, should this be a cause for concern? This brings me to my second question, when I go look at other Porsches, is ...

| Occasional cold start problem | 25 May 2004 01:18 GMT | 2 |
1981 SC Targa. Occasionally (maybe once a week or so) the idle seems a little low after a cold start. It always starts but I find that I need to give it a little gas to keep it going. There is sometimes a slight knock

I've seen one of these for sale (I live in Hong Kong) for the equivalent of US$28,000. It has done 42,000km, appears in good condition and drives well. It has a original mauve/dark pink paint work with matching interior which isn't too pretty, but I was told

lately my 993 has started to eat generator belts, leading to some questions: 1. when the belt is broken,of course the alternator isn't doing anything - I'd expect some kind of idiot light to come on - there is only one light that comes on, ABS, nothing about generator or voltage or ...

| R134a conversion -- does it work? | 12 May 2004 23:37 GMT | 4 |
My wife has a 1984 Carerra. When she bought it about 3 years ago, it already had the AC converted to R134A. Great, I thought, then we won't have to hassle with it. Well, the AC has always been anemic. Now her mechanic (a Porsche

I've wanted a Porsche for a very long time and recently came across an early 90s 911 Cabriolet for what seems like a decent price. One thing I've noticed is how many cars I'm finding with 60 - 80k miles on them... is there some major service required at this mileage that is

| Service Records | 11 May 2004 00:51 GMT | 1 |
I am considering the purchase of a 911 C4. The car appears clean, and checks out on carfax, however there are no service records. If service has been performed at a Porsche dealership, would I be able to get them?
