911 winter driving28 Mar 2005 18:00 GMT7
I was considering getting a 911 and I was wondering about winter
driving. I can't afford two cars with one of them being a 911. I live in
Illinois, so snow is always a factor. We have had moderate winters for the
last couple of years and I have been driving a BMW with not much ...

Tail lights - funky problems28 Mar 2005 01:14 GMT2
I have a 1987 911 Carrera with the following issue;
The tail lights work fine if the headlights are off.  Both rear lights and
the center light work with normal pressure on the brakes.
When I turn on the headlights, the lower rear brake lights do not operate,
Flywheel skimming - 911SC / 915 tran27 Mar 2005 05:42 GMT9

After skimming, what thickness is still good and safe?
Airconditioning27 Mar 2005 05:25 GMT6
The air-conditioning on recently purchased '85 911 is not working (I hope it
just needs regassing).  Just wondering from anyone who lives in a warm
climate (I'm in Perth, Western Australia) how efficient the air-con is when
working properly?  i.e is it worth the trouble to get ...
911 grabby clutch26 Mar 2005 22:30 GMT1
Hi. Bought a "nice" 85 911 on ebay a few months ago. The engine runs fine
and it was delivered by truck. The problem is that the clutch is very
"finicky". A lot of gas is required to keep it from stalling, and when I am
able to get it right, the clutch is very grabby; like a cable ...
996 Engine Protection Plate24 Mar 2005 21:51 GMT2
I just had a cracked oil pan from driving over a curb.  I am wondering
how effective an engine protection plate is and what effect it has on
engine operating temperature.  Any recommendations other than not
driving over curbs?
Odometer not working22 Mar 2005 12:23 GMT4
I recently purchased a '85 930 Turbo and the odometer has stopped working
(speedometer is working fine)  The trip meter is at 000 and it won't move.
Has anyone experienced this before?  Thoughts on a remedy?
cheers
911 Break Lights21 Mar 2005 05:46 GMT7
Greetings Group,
I have a 1984 911 Targa, that the break lights just don't seem to want to go
out when the headlights are on driving at night. I've narrowed it down to
the break sensor. It seems to me that I heard somewhere that I can get a

people using.
Placement of sub speaker?03 Mar 2005 05:45 GMT5
I'm going to install a new sound system in my '86 911 carrera
cabriolet. Aside from the door & rear panel speakers, I'd like to put
a small sub somewhere. Anyone had success finding a decent place? I
don't want to build a box and take up room in the rear section. (I
Another thing to check fefore buying?02 Mar 2005 15:29 GMT6
In the Spokane paper today there's a 1997 C2 for sale, no price or mileage.
BUT, the none thing it does say is, "Adult owned and driven."
With kids having as much money as they today is that now another thing we have
to guard against?  A kid buying one, really abusing it, and then ...
