I took the battery out to replace it and now the front lid is locked
so I can't open it to fit the new battery. Without power the central
locking won't release the lid. Is there an emergency release
mechanism? Where is it?

I am reasonably mechanically minded, yet getting this gear box (915) off of the back of my 3.0L SC motor has me beat!

Anyways, I have followed the service manual instructions to the T which includes pulling tension rivets ...

Is there any way to turn this noise off ( apart from the obvious of
strapping myself in)??
