Should Have Told Me: Broken Wind Deflector30 Sep 2003 14:11 GMT8
No sooner did I (finally) get my first Porsche, an '83 944, then I break the
sunroof!!!  Arg!  I was in the process of reinstalling the roof when I managed
to break the passenger side hinge that controls the wind deflector.  Not that
it made me feel any better, but I could tell that ...

I need primarily the two little hinges that keep this part in place but would
prefer the whole assembly.  Please let me know what you have and the price.
Thanks!
AIR FILTER HELP29 Sep 2003 07:32 GMT1
I have a 1987 944NA.
I have heard that replacing the standard filter with a K&N filter is a good
idea, no-one seems to dispute that.
I have however heard very different things about whether to replace with a
Oil For 944S229 Sep 2003 05:16 GMT2
Hi All, my first posting so be gentle with me. I recently bought a
1990 S2 and it has had a recent service using 10W/40 oil. Bearing in
mind it has 82K on the clock and FSH is this oil a good choice?

tires for 944?28 Sep 2003 20:41 GMT7
Time for new tires on my '84 944.
I've been using V-rated BRGoodrich Comp T/A's, and have been very
pleased with handling and wear, but not so happy on wet roads.  They've
always tended to be a little slippery when the rainy season arrives.
electric guru needed27 Sep 2003 00:06 GMT4
this post is a continuation of "low idle when cold". 84 non turbo.
I think i have found the culprit for my low idle. The aux air valve.
I dont appear to be getting any voltage on the connector. I checked
with power on and off. Resistance of the valve checks out good, but

Left Backuplight Out and Blinker Fast ???24 Sep 2003 01:28 GMT4
Have a 1984 944 Porsche.  The left backup light was out so tried to replace
it but a new bulb did not fix.  That was the only light out.  And now the
left blinker blinks very very fast.  What is going on?  Could it be a wire
connection???  I did clean off the contact real good but ...
low idle when cold22 Sep 2003 17:48 GMT4
In an effort to return my 1984 non turbo to some its past former
glory, i have been chasing a very irritating problem that i dont
appear to be having any luck fixing.
Starting the car from cold the engine idles well below normal (around
sunroof22 Sep 2003 14:41 GMT2
I have an '87 944NA.  I just got it, & it is my 1st Porsche.  It has a power
sunroof, yet it appears the sunroof can be removed completely.  I have no
owners manual.  Can anyone help me get this off?
Thanks,
Water not draining21 Sep 2003 22:20 GMT2
I have a 1986 Porsche 944, and when it rains the water pools up around the
rear rubber lip spoiler and the rear window.  This can't be what its
designed to do, is there a run off someplace that may have gotten clogged
up? The last thing I want is for it to start leaking in the car.
944S  vs. 944   -  Is the S more troublesome?  Higher maintenance? Which is the one to get?21 Sep 2003 14:24 GMT9
I am shopping for a 944.
I've ruled out Turbo's as I like NA better. I've heard some folks like
regular 944's over the 944S's because the S's introduce more complex cam
chain tensioners that the 944 doesn't have.

Club Sport/M030 option on an S220 Sep 2003 20:14 GMT4
I've got a 1990 944S2.  I need new front brake pads, but I'm not sure if I
have the "Club Sport" M030 option or not.  Evidently the Club Sport calipers
take a different brake pad than the standard ones.  Does anyone know if
there is a way to look at the caliper and see what model it ...
944 S2 cabriolet aircon installation20 Sep 2003 09:32 GMT2
Does anyone know of a UK aircon installer who can fit aircon to a RHD
1991 944 S2 cabriolet? Or of someone who makes/supplies aircon kits? I
would willingly source a kit from the US or elsewhere if one is
available.
