Over 100 screens of comprehensive information including detailed wiring
diagrams and many illustrations. Don't spend a small fortune on a bulky
shop manual when you can get the same thing here for a fraction of the
knock when shifting29 Dec 2003 19:40 GMT3
I'm getting a knock when shifting in the lower gear range.  Doesn't
happen every time, but consistently enough to be annoying.  It's
gotten worse over the past year or so.  This is my first 944, and my
first manual trannie.  What up?

Looking for porsche 944 turbo (951)...29 Dec 2003 05:04 GMT3
I live in Austin, TX, and I know this is not a forsale group, but I
was wondering if someone, somewhere in my region knew where I could
find one that was in fair, if not good condition, for not too much.  I
currently drive a 94 Acura Integra LS, but have read much about the
Upshift indicator - how to disable?28 Dec 2003 19:05 GMT2
Just got a really nice '87 944S and found something I want to fix:
I want to disable the "upshift" indicator that displays on the dash so
obnoxiously.  It's the "Up Arrow" that lights up.
I used to have a VW Rabbit and it had that too. Getting rid of it was a
944 won't run over 1800 rpm26 Dec 2003 03:15 GMT1
Car starts and runs fine up to 1800 rpm then shuts down - kicks back in and idles.  Here is how problem came about and what I've done so far:
About a half dozen times in 3-4 months, usually after a rain, the car would shut off at about 4K rpm during acceleration.  Backing off ...
proximity of lower radiator hose to power steering pump 1987 non-turbo24 Dec 2003 15:19 GMT1
from what i gather, on most 944's, the lower radiator hose (water-pump
to lower rad) is really close to the power steering pump pulley - less
than 2 cm on mine.  my hose is from Porsche, and i had a Porsche tech
adjust the pump.

I recently bought a 944S and the expansion tank gasket is leaking.  Does anyone know if this means I have to replace the entire radiator?  I think the crimps that keep it on are loosing up and the mechanic I talked to said that I need to replace the radiator, but I wanted to ask ...
83 944 no spark21 Dec 2003 01:22 GMT9
I have an 83 944 and it will not start.  I have replaced the coil, rotor and plugs but still get no spark.
I have verified that I have 12V on the + side of the coil to batery ground.  It seems as if the DME might not be functioning properly.
86 NA 944 making me nuts!20 Dec 2003 19:42 GMT2
Have an 86 944 NA bought new.
Just put $%000 into it for various parts and labor.
Drive and park it, then go back to it and it won't start, no spark.
Then later could be 1 hour or 1 day it will start.
Early 85 DME20 Dec 2003 06:25 GMT1
I know, the worst '85 to own.  I not necessarily looking for increased
power, but I was hoping to get rid of the shudder problem.  Does anyone
know where I can get a replacement for the Early '85?  Autothority
doesn't support the car anymore since they've had problems with their
