944 parts available.31 Jan 2004 22:19 GMT1
I may be upgrading to another 944.  I am not sure what to do with my current
'87 944na.  Is there a demand if I part it out, or is that generally more
trouble than it is worth?
Thanks,

I've been waiting for the author of this post (from July) to resurface
and he has done so. For those of you who took this post as gospel,

Changing to  synthetic oils25 Jan 2004 23:29 GMT5
Just bought a '83 944 with less than 90k miles, garage kept, new air
conditioner, major maintence completed at 88k miles (new front seals,
gaskets, etc.), 3 year old paint job, etc.  I am wanting to change
over to a synthetic oil and have mixed feelings about flushing out the

I have an 84 944 and need to know what kind of wheels and tires will fit
under my car. More specifically, i need to know 3 things for 16", 17" and
18" setups;

A few questions24 Jan 2004 14:13 GMT1
I have some questions about the interior and wheels of the 1985
(Early) 944.
1. I recently purchased a used 1985 (Early) 944. Mechanically and
appearance wise, it's superb! It's the interior that needs some minor
Oil Pressure Sender24 Jan 2004 14:12 GMT6
Can anyone tell me if this is a difficult job?  I read the Clarks Garage
description, but it doesn't give it a rating for difficulty.
I have found the sender, and from the top it looks pretty inaccessible.
Any ideas about difficulty, time it takes (approx of course) or helpful
Interesting find when fixing my brake caliper...21 Jan 2004 22:50 GMT1
Just the other day, after a long story about how I lost 1 of my brake caliper mounting bolts at 60 mph, I found that my front driverside strut seems to be leaking some grease.
I looked up towards the top of the strut (inside the spring) and the rubber boot around the strut seems ...

Child seats?19 Jan 2004 04:27 GMT5
I have been thinking about getting a 944, but there are none in my area.
So looking for one is bit of a project. To make it more complicated, it
is only feasible for me to buy one if child seats will fit in the back.
I am 6'3" (193cm) and I have 4 year old boy who sits in a ...
Flickering '!' and Oil Light17 Jan 2004 23:13 GMT1
Seems for awhile now that my '!' light and oil light will flicker when
my 88' 944 gets wet (as in rainy/humid for a day or two).  After it
dries up, the symptom stops...  Now it is not an full-on/full-off
flicker -- more like dimly lit...off...flicker...dim...off...etc...
Need help finding a site17 Jan 2004 00:38 GMT1
Several months ago I found a website of a guy who lives in Pennsylvania.  He
rebuilds 944 engines (and apparently races a 951 ).  The site has a picture
of a bunch of 944s "out back" & I think he has a car nicknamed "black
beauty" or something similar.
