I am currently looking for a 944 (in UK) wanting to spend about 4ish what is

What's the point of the little plastic sheild/lip that sticks up when you
remove the sunroof from the 944? Is that there just for the purpose of
attaching the sunroof, or am I supposed to angle it up to help deflect wind,
or whatever other purpose it may serve? I've just been ...
