Yet another headroom for the tall question27 Apr 2004 13:25 GMT3
Going through the availiable archives on Google shows a few posts
about head/leg room in the later (88-01) Porsche 944. I didn't see
anything that definitely answered the headroom question. I'm 6'6"
(~198cm), with long arms and legs. I've had my eye on an '85 944 for
original retail for a 86 94426 Apr 2004 17:14 GMT2
I was just wondering if anybody knew the original retail value of the

'83 944 Headlite Closing Problem26 Apr 2004 00:42 GMT2
The headlites on my '83 944 rise up with no problem.  When you turn them off
however, they tend to close about half way down and then stop.  Once they stop
in this position (i.e., half closed), if you manually give them a light tap
they will close completely.
Indicator lights and what they might mean in my case...25 Apr 2004 15:55 GMT7
I've been having a strange problem, well not really a problem, but I've
noticed something strange. So here is an example; when I'm driving around
I notice this sometimes, and not others. No real reason why it should be
random, maybe the way I start out from first gear, but still no ...
Odometer Gear Question24 Apr 2004 04:02 GMT1
As it does for many others, my odometer gear on my 87 944 N/A finally went.
I tried a couple of places that normally have a "replacement" gear, but they
were out of stock.
So, check google under Porsche odometer gear, I found a site that said they
bailing water -87' 924S24 Apr 2004 00:27 GMT4
'87 924S -   Back seat floor pass. side fills with water when it rains ; not
from the battery tray (which I have tarred and fiberglassed) ; folks have
suggested the drain holes under the sun roof may be stuffed  ; they look
OK - how to deal with this ? Blow air down them  ? Up them ...
86 944 ignition coil to DME wire connector?23 Apr 2004 13:02 GMT5
Debugging an electrical problem.
While checking out my DME module, I have the DME module out and the main
connector to the unit off.  I was checking continuity thru the harness in
an attempt to identify which pin goes to the ignition coil.
1987 944 n/a  Jackstand positioning23 Apr 2004 03:56 GMT2
Just wondering, where is the best position to place jack stands or blocks
under a 87 944 n/a for a new clutch installation, and how high should it be?
will the wheels have to be free to rotate? I guess these are minor
questions, but I am going to try this installation myself. Any ...

I own a 85.5 na 944. Few days back my transmission stuck in fourth gear.
Messed w/the stick and got it out. Twice later that night it stuck in
fourth again.  Someone help please!  I don't want to take out the tranny.
Some say check the gear dope.  Thanks for the help.
1987 944 n/a Clutch kit prices21 Apr 2004 14:35 GMT2
Hey all, Does anyone know the price of a new clutch kit, for a 1987 944 n/a
and do I need to make sure of a certain brand? Any help of a web site, or
phone of a company would be greatly appreciated. Also do I need the Rubber
hub or the Spring type?
Please help How much is 944S worth21 Apr 2004 05:43 GMT4
I have a 944S with about 125K on it.
The timing belt broke about 2 years ago.
The motor crashed. I had it completely rebuilt.
Then about a year ago I go to start the car and I hear a very loud pop and
944 Re-Trim?19 Apr 2004 23:46 GMT4
Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to re-trim a 944 to an all
leather interior?
Any ideas who would do it?
Thanks.
1987 944 n/a18 Apr 2004 15:14 GMT5
Well, it finally happened, While the engine is idling, I cannot get the
transmission to shift into any gear with the clutch pedal pressed. I can
shut off the engine, and push the clutch pedal, and it goes into any gear.
When you start the 944 in 1st gear, pushing the clutch pedal in ...
'87 944S High, hard brake pedal18 Apr 2004 07:42 GMT1
My 944S has poor brakes. The pedal is high and hard. Takes much greater effort
to whoa-up than does my '86 944. Doesn't inspire confidence on the off ramp.
Both cars are vacuum-assisted. As the 944S is new-to-me, I've turned the rotors
replaced pads, replaced rubber hoses with ...
