Clutch Slave Cylinder bleeding29 Jul 2004 23:36 GMT1
Is it possible to bleed the slave cylinder with a power pressure bleed pot?
I have bled it before manually with an assistant.  The power bleeder works
great for brakes, I just did not know if you needed to push on the clutch
pedal to get the fluid through to the clutch.
944 Rear Speaker Replacement29 Jul 2004 19:28 GMT5
I need to replace the rear speakers in my '87 944S.
I'm told that step one is removing the rear side windows.
Any hints on how to do that without breaking the window?
From the inside or the outside?
1988 944 Turbo S??27 Jul 2004 05:22 GMT2
I've been offered what purports a 1988 944 Turbo S. It isn't pink and
doesn't have psychedelic upholstery. How can I tell if it is actually
an "S" and not a run-of-the-mill turbo? Thanks in advance!
dead spot on acceleration27 Jul 2004 04:09 GMT3
my daughters 944S has an intermittant dead spot on acceleration - if it were
a carburetted car, I'd figure it was a throttle pump not working - you press
on the gas and there is a loss of power, then after a bit it catches and
pulls normally.  Can you think of anything except the ...

Noise when turning left25 Jul 2004 20:25 GMT5
I'm having a problem with my 1985 (Early) 944. Yesterday, I noticed
that when I turn left, there's a strange thumping noise coming from
either the front or rear left wheel. I also hear this sound when I go
over a bump or uneven road. The sound does *not* exist at all when I
944S2 Running Terribly!24 Jul 2004 04:49 GMT7
My 1990 944S2 has been perfect for my two years of ownership.  It has 140k
miles and runs strong every day.  I started it last week and it
immediately stalled.  Started fine again, coughed, then stalled.  If i'm
heavy on the gas, I can keep it running for a while.  Then it will ...
'83 944 Sputter Problem23 Jul 2004 10:11 GMT8
My '83 944 starts, idles, and seems to run fine with the exception of one
problem.  Whenever I get her up past around 4k rpm she sputters.  If I ease her
back down under this threshold she runs fine again.  Since I have a 5 speed it
is pretty easy to avoid this higher rpm range ...

944 Pistons20 Jul 2004 03:21 GMT3
Asking a question for a friend who's son has a '84 944 that broke the
timing belt. Obviously some of the valve stems were bent as a result,
but he would like to know if the pistons were machined with valve
clearance indentations or were all 4 pistons "indented identically" as
no spark from coil20 Jul 2004 03:16 GMT2
I have a 1988 944 and no spark comes out the coil.  I checked the power
coil to the coil and there is power but nothing comes out.  The DME relay
is new and therefore, power the fuel pump does work.  I wounder if the
reference sensors could be the problem.  At any rate, I took them ...
