is there a cabin air filter?20 Jul 2004 02:50 GMT6
got an '88 944 and even with the fan on "4" the airflow through the dash
vents is pretty weak.  Is there a cabin air filter somewhere that might
be plugged?  With consistent 90 degree temps here I need my A/C!
thanks
944 Belt Tensioning20 Jul 2004 02:43 GMT5
Is there a reliable way to correctly set timing/cam belt tension WITHOUT
investing in the specialized (and expensive) tool ?
Other OE-type tools required seem to be semi-affordable , but belt
tensioner tool (P9201) costs more than the whole job !
Guards Red Paint Code18 Jul 2004 14:47 GMT2
I'm looking to do some touch-up work on my '83 944.  Can someone please tell me

Thanks!

Recently I bought a 944 turbo S that has really worn out shocks. My garage

$1500 a set. Has anyone experience with replacing M030 struts or getting
them rebuild.

944 turbo cooling fans13 Jul 2004 06:50 GMT2
I have a 1986 944 turbo, and the radiator cooling fans run slowly after I
shut off the key, wont turn off unless I remove the relay.   They arent
running full speed or even close to it when the key is off, but do run full
speed when the key is on.   Any thoughts?
1985.5 944 no start08 Jul 2004 22:36 GMT5
I'm supposed to be a mechanic by trade, but this 944's got me
rethinking my career path. It was running fine when my daughter took off in
it, and after interrogation she admitted to a few quick take - offs and some
70 to 80 mph wind ups before it stopped running and coasted to ...
Belt tensioner wrench08 Jul 2004 13:03 GMT2
The note by the mechanic who did his own belt and bearing replacement reminded
me of something I keep meaning to do but haven't gotten around to.
Changing the belts is actually not that big a deal. A good Saturday afternoon
project that costs maybe $60 and saves several hundred $ in ...
