coolant meets oil31 Oct 2004 15:11 GMT8
I had recently found a leak in the little hose from the heater valve to the
block. Thanks to Pelican I got the part (plus others) 6 days later. I've
managed to replace the hose without too much trouble, considering I've got a
Tib/Fib fracture.

New to the group with a couple of questions.29 Oct 2004 08:49 GMT10
I really like the body style of the early 944s. (The "flared" fenders
do it for me).  Some later models don't have them but some do.  It
seems like it's the turbo models with them.  Is this true or do some
other non-turbo models have them also?  Like the 944S or S2?
Exterior Door Handle Question23 Oct 2004 18:34 GMT2
The driver's side door handle needs to be replaced on my 85.1 944. I
have the factory alarm system on my 944, but I don't ever use it. When
I was ordering a replacement handle, the salesman asked me if my 944
has a factory alarm.
Squawk from Engine Compartment during startup23 Oct 2004 18:10 GMT2
I have a 1989 944 and lately I?ve been noticing that a squawking noise
has been coming from the engine compartment when I start my car. The
duration of the noise is pretty short and sometimes it does it twice.
Any idea what might be causing this; it?s been doing it as long as

I have a couple of "star" cracks on my windshield.
Are there any good places in the SF Bay Area that
will repair them and collect from my insurance?
BTW, about how much does a new windshield cost?

I just bought this 86 944 turbo, replaced the water pump/belts/tentioners

it (batt was old) drove it round for a bit, then parked it, and replaced
the battery.   Now the engine cranks, but wont start.   ...
Rear hatch hinge repair11 Oct 2004 05:51 GMT3
Some older 944s have the rear hatch hinge come loose from the glass
and either leak water and/or squeek.  Mine finally got too much to
bear.  Drove the two hinge pins out with a pin punch, slid the hatch
down about a foot.  Must disconnect the lifting shocks before knocking
86 944 Trouble running after short warm up10 Oct 2004 01:05 GMT3
Have read most of the posts already similar to this.
Initial problem started while driving on the highway after 10 mile
shopping trip.  Car would run fine unless it was revved above 3-4K. Once
it was revved up, it would die. After waiting a couple of hours (time enuf

a sill-y 944 question07 Oct 2004 14:50 GMT6
My poor 944 has been sorely neglected since I moved into the big city,
so it's time to sell it. It's a great runner. has all new brakes
(including handbrakes), Cat 1 alarm and everything works like it
should. Problem: it won't pass an MoT because the sills have rusted,
