87 Porsche 944 Repair Manuals HELP23 Dec 2004 17:48 GMT3
I just got a 944 and it needs a little work, nothing real major but as of
right now it doesn't run and were not positive why, 2 ideas were that the
cam pully pin broke so the cam isn't spinning, the guy i got it from

stone guards?18 Dec 2004 10:27 GMT5
I'm repainting a 944, so I"ll need the porsche decal and a set of stone
guards - if bought from the dealer, this will cost nearly as much as the
paint job (about $150 for the stone guards, $40 for the decal, and $22 for
the stick on emblem in the back).  I find them a little cheaper ...
CV Joint Wear?17 Dec 2004 21:50 GMT5
I pulled the rear axles out and took apart all 4 CV Joints.  I was getting a
knocking, thumping or rapping noise coming from the right rear of the car.
It was not quite a clicking noise.  I put the car on stands and had my wife
run the car in gear to get everything spinning with me ...
DME Fuel Quality Adjustments16 Dec 2004 12:51 GMT1
The 944 DMEs have an 8-position adjustment that retards the timing (about 3
degs depending no model) and enriches or leans the fuel mixture (+/- 3 or 6%).
Although stock (K&N doesn't count) and using the stock DME settings on both
cars, I can't help wondering - could performance be ...

Cam Belt Change On '83 94412 Dec 2004 15:15 GMT6
The clever people at Haynes say replacing the cam belt should be left to a
dealership.
Is this true?
If not any guidance would be appreciated.
