I get water leaking into the rear of my 1988 944S via the pins which secure
the rear hatch. It is getting in under the rubber seal mounted on the hatch
around the pin, and then between the rubber seal inside the opening the pin
goes into and the body shell, and runs down into the ...

I've had to get an alarm fitted on my UK '90 S2 to keep the insurance

installed on it (I think it has problems anyway), is there anything special
I need to do as I'm guessing that I can't simply unplug ...
Paint codes21 Feb 2005 22:52 GMT3
Ok I found the paint codes and a place to buy some touch up paint that is
made to order--- don't know the quality but I think I will give it a try as
a arisol can is $30 and if that matches it is a lot cheaper than an entire
paint job.  Now the question--- where are the paint codes ...

944 S2 vibration above 3000 rpm12 Feb 2005 19:54 GMT7
    I purchased a 1991 944 S2 recently. During acceleration above
3000 rpm, I can feel obvious vibration from the car. The problem seem
to exist in every gear over 3000 rpm. A mechanic here in Taiwan told
me that it's becase of worn out CV boots on the center main axle? Does

I have an oil leak coming from the back of the cam case, as I have to change
the belt I figured I'd take care of this at the same time. Does this gasket
go on dry, or can anyone suggest a good sealent.
Thanks
Milometer11 Feb 2005 14:53 GMT4
My milometer won't reset.  How difficult is this to rectify.  Is it
electronic or a sort of manual push button that has come detached.  Any
ideas?
Thanks in advance

Cam position during belt change09 Feb 2005 06:29 GMT1
Could someone clarify to me; the belt is supposed to be tensioned at a one

move independent of the crank to this position, or are they moved together?
Thanks

86  944... Converter fire07 Feb 2005 07:58 GMT7
I would appreciate some input from the group.  Engine very rough on
startup - would not smooth out until warmed up.  They gave the mechanical
