Hi, I have a vibration in the front end when breaking at higher speeds
(above 60mph). I just had the front end aligned and checked out and it's OK.
I replaced the front pads and rotor about 3 months ago. I bought the cross
drilled rotors. Installed new tires last month also. Any ...

ADVISE PLEASE:  924 rear suspension bushing needed26 Jun 2005 04:52 GMT2
I had to replace the Torque Tube on a 1978 924.  Pilot bearing tore up the
input shaft which in turn created more problems.  When replacing the tube I
had to drop the rear suspension and I had to cut the bolt that holds the
right side rear suspension up (Mounting Flange Bushing).
Help! Camshaft!25 Jun 2005 01:57 GMT5
Sounds like my camshaft or anicilary parts might be dues for replacement.
I'm thinking "ouch" - I assume this is right!
Apparently, the play in the shaft should be 5/1000 inch - it's 1/8 inch -
so that's about 24 times too much.

Door Handles - do not work23 Jun 2005 00:29 GMT1
The external door handles on my son-in-law’s 1988 944 do not work. He
has to either leave a window open or crawl through the hatch. The car
can be locked/unlocked just fine. The Hanyes manual really gives no
hint on what to look for.
shifting problem22 Jun 2005 12:37 GMT6
My '86 944T won't shift into first or reverse while the engine is
running. The other forward gears seem to work fine, and all of them
shift smoothly when the engine is off. I can put the car into first or
reverse, let out the clutch, and then start it with no problem. The
LHD Porsche in the UK21 Jun 2005 21:56 GMT1
Is it fair to say one can buy a LHD version somewhat cheaper than the RHD.
If so what are the drawbacks for example on insurance and resales.
Cheers.

My 944 (I'm in the UK, by the way) occassionally wont start. It will run for
days perfectly, then just not fire up. Leave it a few days and it starts
fine. I've replaced the fuel relay, vaccuum pipes. Checked the coil, plugs,
distributor, there is a spark (haven't replaced them ...
How much does it cost you to fill your 944?07 Jun 2005 01:18 GMT6
944 owners in the US: How much does it cost you to fill your 944 when
it's on 'R'? Where I live, the price of gas is around $2.10 a gallon.
When I put $26.00 worth of gas in, it barely reaches a full tank...

I am about to replace the steering rack on my 87 NA 944.  I have a rebuilt
