Help: My '83 944 Misses at +3k RPM27 Nov 2005 21:10 GMT6
I recently acquired an '83 944.  The previous owner had it serviced
regularly but drove it under 100 miles for the last several years.  The
engine starts right up on the first try and idles smoothly.  The only
problem seems to be that when you rev it above 3k the engine sputters

I am getting no spark past the starter.  I've replaced the relay for fuel
pump, tested fuel pump, replaced the relay to the fuel pump and still no
spark.  Any suggestions?

Hope someone can help me. My car is a 1984 944.
I changed my water pump and now I have no oil pressure (it was fine
before I changed it). I torqued the crankshaft bolt to 154 ft lbs.
I took everything back apart and for a black plastic washer (I guess

I've got an '88 945 and it has been idling right around 2100 rpm. If I
switch it into second gear and give it a little gas and idle again, it
falls to 1.5 then starts climbing back up to 2 after a little bit. Any
suggestions?

My fresh air fan works when switched to 1 or 2 however when it’s
switched to 3 it shuts off. I have replaced every relay that are
labeled "blower" in the service manual. The wiring diagram
references a Fresh Air Blower Relay, does anyone know where this is. I

I cant seem to find anything in a manual to guid me on how to take the
valve cover off. I don't know if i need to take the injector lines and the
air intake off to be able to get it off. Thanks, Dan
