I currently have Toyo RA1 205/50ZR/15 tires on my 7J X 15 cookie
cutter rims. My question is will a 225/50R/15 tire work. My 1984 is
used at the track for FAT, HPDE, and some timed events.

well, my "proof of concept" worked - replaced the lamp in my daughter's 86
NA clock with a high brightness LED and a 470 ohm series resistor - it all
