in the years i have owned my 944 I have never had the rear view mirror
on its mount "properly" just hanging loose as I could never force it on,
even with Channellocks etc.
I recently bought another mirror off eBay because the original one was

'87 944 n.a. -- need help identifying origin of electrical noise.
symptom : there's an electrical-ish sounding hum / buzz apparently
behind the dash on the passenger side that is constant while the
electrical system is engaged (i.e. when the key is at stage I) and

i've been maintaining my phone-dial wheels w/ petroleum jelly coating,
seems to be pretty good - brake dust wipes clean off - but in some
spots they are slightly yellow/plastic-looking, in contrast to the

confused by this behavior - specifically, the engine oil warning
lamp :
start car.  all checks OK, i.e. engine oil warning lamp lights up,
then turns off in 1-2 seconds.

i need to replace the rear window - this looks to me like part of the
rear speaker replacement job, and should save some time if done at
once - am i right?

A few years ago, after the buttons on the stock Blaupunkt Monterey
gave out, I put a new radio in my 1986 944 (a 951, actually, but
I don't think that matters for this discussion). Recently, I decided
to move that radio to my other car, so I got a new Blaupunkt Hamburg

Can anyone help?  My wiper fluid on my 89 944T sprays sometimes on
both sides of the windshield then sometimes it won’t spray at all.  I
tried to see if the tips where pluged but does not appear to be.
Anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?

My '86 944T is unhappy when the headlight stalk is pushed forward to
switch on the headlight high beams.   I get no light in that position.
It works fine on low beams.  The interesting thing is that when I pull
the stalk towards me (against the spring) into the temporary position ...

...or just chips.  Or even if I could *borrow* the stock chips I could
have them copied and returned to you.  DME part number 944 618 121 05.
having a real hard time finding this one year only part.  PO of my car
chipped it and lost the stock ones.
