Porsche 996 Battery Replacement Help28 Feb 2004 01:20 GMT1
After three years of Chicago winters my 996 battery is dead and will
not take a charge.  Checking with Porsche the "080" replacement is
$162.07!
I seem to recall an earlier post about a replacement battery for
1986 930/911 Turbo, Red Tan for sale.27 Feb 2004 07:56 GMT1
I am the original owner of my 1986 911/930 turbo we purchsed new in
86, it was one of the first Turbos to arrive back in the states. The
car has less than 11,000 miles on it and is in perfect condition, no
leaks, no scratches, no dents.
1987 Posrche 944 w/400K(!) miles at $2600 -- good deal?26 Feb 2004 22:23 GMT8
I've been looking at a Porsche 944 with nearly 400,000 miles on it for
$2600. The body is actually in pretty good shape (some minor rust in
small areas) and it appears to be in good running condition. The
interior is a mess, however, with several cosmetic repairs needed - in

am I getting screwed?22 Feb 2004 15:55 GMT4
Took my "new" 944 in for a timing belt...  I thought that this job was
going to cost about $800ish, I had budgeted $1200 just in case it would
be more expensive (as they always find something else wrong.)  Well now
the guy is talking that he may have to update some plate behind ...

In the market for used Boxster '99 to 200119 Feb 2004 21:39 GMT2
We've been to numerous dealerships in the area and found pricing to be
pretty consistant; 99's ranging from 23K to 28K depending on mileage &
2000's from 27K to 32K depending on the mileage & 2001's from 30K to
36K depending on the mileage.
Idle19 Feb 2004 11:03 GMT3
Only recently when i'm driving my 86 944 in the extreme cold does it have a
problem with idle.  Once the car has warmed up the idle will drop from
normal range (800 rpm) all the way down to the first or second hash mark on
the tach (200rpm?) but it won't die, it will just sputter ...
Return of the 928?16 Feb 2004 17:12 GMT2
CAR magazine of the UK is reporting that Porsche is working on a new front
engine-rear drive sports-touring car to be powered by a version of the
Cayenne's 4.5 litre V8. If this is true, it'll be the first time since 1995
that Porsche has had anything to compete directly with cars ...

Buying A 91109 Feb 2004 21:51 GMT3
I'm looking to spend around $15-20K to buy a 911 this spring. Right now I'm
just doing research on the best model and year to buy.  I was wondering if
anyone can give their opinion on the best investment year/type to buy.  I
don't want to buy one and then find out that year or style ...
