944 oil use29 Jun 2004 20:55 GMT9
Is it normal for a 1986 non turbo 944 to burn 1/2 - 1 quarter of synthetic

Got to examine a Carrera GT today!25 Jun 2004 16:09 GMT11
Hoehn Porsche in Carlsbad, California has a Carrera GT in stock and on
display for the general public. At first glance it looks like a model, no
wires or hoses showing in the engine bay, but upon closer inspection, from
the single release hubs to the ceramic rotors to the very ...

I'm in the process of fitting new speakers to my S2 and bypassing the amp
(as my head unit doesn't need or fit it!) but when I've checked the original
wiring from the back of the head unit to the speaker wires in the doors
there is no continuity. The continuity between the rear ...

Strange VIN number17 Jun 2004 11:43 GMT9
Since saturday I am a proud owner of a 1988 Turbo S. A strange thing is that
the car has 2 VIN numbers. WPOZZZ95ZJN154178 at the right side in the engine
compartment and WPOAA2955JN154178 at the windscreen tag and at the sticker
next to the fusebox.
Older Porsche Parts?16 Jun 2004 11:34 GMT4
My 1967 912 came out of storage and it needs cosmetic work.
1) The dash vinyl is badly cracked. Can I get it renovated without buying a
new dash panel? I understand the windshield has to come out. Do the
windshields tend to shatter when they're removed, and how much would a new
YES!14 Jun 2004 23:22 GMT9
Today I bought the car that completes my dream Porsche collection:
a 1983 928S in Guards Red with black leather interior. With my 911 and
944, I now have every Porsche model sold in the US for that year! Life
is good, even without driving your enemies before you and hearing the

I just had my power windows fixed.  When I took the car home, I noticed that
the headlight low-beams no longer worked.  The headlights will flip up and

Starting up '80 911 after 1.5yr storage09 Jun 2004 13:13 GMT2
Hi guys, like the topic says, I'll be taking my friend's '80 911 SC out
of storage to drive for the summer.
I started her up last week and gingerly took her up and down the block a

I am buying my first set of competition tires.  I understand the heat cycling
thing but not the shaving aspect.
What does "shaving" a tire do.
Many Thanks
Abuse?07 Jun 2004 05:51 GMT18
Porsche owners: Is it common to experience unnecessary police harassment? I

mentioned this to the officer his reply was something to the ...
