Can the new glass window in the rag top be retrofitted into a 2001 Boxster?

Evening all - I've happily bought a Porsche today (911 Targa '74) but have
problems...big problems.
She's happy iddling but not when you rev her. She's been sitting a long time
though (3 months) and I'm hoping with use and a bit of persuasion....

I can disconnect the battery terminals, charge the battery, reconnect the
terminals, start the car and drive 25 miles and the car will not start.  The
battery water level is fine and the charger indicates it is fully charged.
My wife has let the battery run down twice in the life ...
