| Anybody installed DOT braided brake lines? | 30 Apr 2005 21:07 GMT | 16 |
I'm considering installing DOT brake lines on my 911SC to improve the braking. I know my car isn't supposed to stop like a Buick when you step on the brakes, but it does seem to take quite a bit of peddle pressure to haul the car down, and I'm told this is pretty normal for this ...

| Why are Porsches expensive? | 27 Apr 2005 19:23 GMT | 44 |
Why are Porsches, particularly the 911 variants, so expensive (at least in US anyway)? This is something I have been wondering about ever since I was a youth. I've asked many people this same question, and I always receive different answers. Some say the cost is mostly due to having ...

| Working on the Boxster | 26 Apr 2005 20:02 GMT | 3 |
Can I expect a good mechanic, who has never worked on a Porsche, to be able to successfully work on a Boxster? I mean, there's not even an engine under the bonnet... I'm asking because it's something like 550km to the nearest official Porsche

| Blown Engine | 19 Apr 2005 04:04 GMT | 3 |
I have a 1999 boxster and have not missed an oil change or service checkup. At 47K miles the engine seized up. 12K replacement. Apparently there is a heat sleeve on the manifold (to draw heat from the engine), that gets sucked into the engine if it comes loose. i

| 1987 Carrera : Rust questions | 09 Apr 2005 02:38 GMT | 1 |
Does this model suffer from rust ? I have one that has been mostly garaged - a small bit of elevated pain at one of the skirts has me wondering. Equally there are some chips on the bonnet that have not signs of rust despite not being treated and being exposed to the

I am thinking of buying an out of state 97/98/99 Boxster and importing it into California because I have friend who gets good deals in Georgia and Florida. Can anyone tell me whether there are any issues doing that? Do non-CA cars pass CA smog tests okay, for example? Are there any ...

I want to hire a Boxster for my two week holiday in Ireland this May/June. I own one now here in America, and if the roads there are anything like what I've seen in past trips to Great Britain, then I'll want one on my holiday. Unfortunately, I cannot find a place that

When bleeding brakes on a car with two bleeder screws per caliper, what is the proper procedure? Do you bleed both sides of single caliper before going to the next caliper? Which side of the caliper do you bleed first? Anything else you would like to share. Thanks in advance
