80's 911 third brake light28 Nov 2005 02:29 GMT1
I've looked and can't find any facts on how some
911's have an internal, upper window light and others seem
to have an after-market ET-looking one off the rear deck.
Weren't all US 911's required to have one and would have

Looking to buy a used 911 for a weekend driver. New to the Porsche world.
Looking for advice on years/models to avoid. Prefer years 88 through 98. The
996 models look good but they don't seem to hold their value. Why? I know
they're water cooled but why are the 99 model 996's ...

Warranty problems, please give me some advice26 Nov 2005 15:04 GMT5
I'm running into some major warranty problems with the '02 Boxster I
bought on June 10 of that year.  The four year warranty should last
until June 10 of next year, 2006, right?  Wrong.
When I was recently up at the dealership the service rep said my

New and Green!19 Nov 2005 20:45 GMT2
Good day all!
I have just bought a 1987 924S (my first ever Porsche), which will
require some work.  My mechanic suggested I start by joining a group
like this one.  The car had not been ran for over 2 years.  I trailered
Want to buy Boxster15 Nov 2005 15:26 GMT9
quick question if I may.  I'd like to buy a boxster (presumably more reliable
than older 911) as a reward to myself for putting kids through university.
Locally there is a '98 for sale for CDN$33k (about US$26.5k) with 50kkm

they keys will need to have the transponder.

944/928 Swap?08 Nov 2005 02:08 GMT6

944? Or is there another engine that is a good swap?

Ok... I have been driving my 2001 996 Cabriolet for a few months now
(and loving every second) and I have been looking at different
performace upgrades.
I was hoping to get some feedback from everyone... what would be the
Can I bring my Boxster through an automatic car wash?07 Nov 2005 10:36 GMT15
You know, the kinds that used high pressure water sprays that spray the
front, over the top, past the back, and along the sides.  I am worried
that it might tear up the cloth top, or cause a leaking under the high
pressure of the water spray where the windows and the cloth top meet.
Why is this newsgroup dead?02 Nov 2005 22:34 GMT10
Why is this group dead? I am a BMW owner and am thinking of buying a
Porsche. I know that the BMW forum is not alive, but the ammount of
posts are at least 10-20X - maybe more. Where do you guys hang out to
get info?
just a trip02 Nov 2005 15:31 GMT2
Drove from Frankfurt to Luxembourg yesterday (27.10.05) in the '03 996
Cabriolet.  Wonderful warm Fall weather and we went back roads with the top
down (as far as possible)    The wife and I share the driving and so she did
the twists & turns on the way there and I did them on ...
