Posted this in other places.. but I'm desperate.. It's going to take someone who's either been there.. or knows a lot to figure this one I think. I might be on my own.... OK. I found I do have a bad alternator, so I am buying a new one but

Can someone help me. My 84 carrera oil gauge stays at 5 most of the time, occasionally it jerks to 3 andthen back to five. rarely, at idle ,it reads about 3. This started suddenly (106,000 on engine). When I ground the sender wire the gauge goes to 0. Now, I can't get at the

Picked up a used 2000 Boxster a while back. Great car, it has 23K on it. Only problem is the engine makes a valve lifter ticking noise when started for about 3 seconds until the oil pressure comes up. Seems to go away almost completely but you can still here the
