I have purchased a 996TT (2002 CPO) and expect to be picking it up from the dealership this afternoon or tomorrow morning. The original owner was a Porsche enthusiast and took the car to events from time to time. It has 18k miles on it.

Anyone ever use 100 octane fuel on their 911? What is the effect? There is a Sunoco station on my way to work that sells the stuff at 7.99 per gallon.

On Saturday night, on the freeway, suddenly the engine light on my 1997 porsche boxter started flashing. I know the ON engine light is somewhat ok .. but flashing is not good, and I was just about to think of what to do .. when the engine started sputtering.

Prices are similar, although the 911 is a tad more expensive, but I'm split between the two. I've read the M3 is more edgy and unrefined, but a blast to drive... while the 911 is smoother and everything just seems to work perfectly
