Air Bag Warning light on 1999 9-530 Jun 2004 19:23 GMT2
Guys, I need your help.
The airbag warning light just came on in my 1999 9-5. Anyone know how to
diagnose and fix this problem. I do not want to pay the dealer hundred of
dollars for a simple fix. Thanks
[Saab_c900] When was APC introduced in the Saab 900's?29 Jun 2004 23:35 GMT25
Here in Sydney (Australia) the local service station has, as of this week,
stopped selling lead-replacment petrol (aka LRP) and it's being phased out
by most oil companies in Australia over the next 12 months.
BP, who supplies the service station I prefer to use, is now selling it's
9000 - central locking blowing fuses29 Jun 2004 22:55 GMT2
The central locking on my 9000CDE has just started to blow fuses.  Problem
started with no warning - I just tried to open the doors one morning and
found that the central locking wasn't working. I checked and found that the
fuse had blown. If I replace the fuse it will work fine ...
Check engine, lambda and air mass meter.29 Jun 2004 09:58 GMT1
I would be glad if anyone could point me in some sort of direction here.
I bought a 900 from 91 three years ago, then the Check enginge light
was on most of the time. Don't remember all turns, but engine-idle-speed
was up and down and sometimes it stopped. Changed the lambda-sond ...
Wanted: 5-speed tranny for '89 9000CDE29 Jun 2004 03:35 GMT5
My girlfriend's 9k crapped out it's reverse gear right after a clutch
job, and needs a new tranny.
If anyone has one or even a whole parts car from '87 to '91, let me know.

9-3 Stereo Upgrade28 Jun 2004 16:25 GMT2
I just bought a 2004 Saab 9-3 with the basis stereo.  It is very weak and in
fact the sound from the rear speakers is an embarrassment!  The upgraded
Saab stereos come with an additional amp and a pair of 4x6 speakers in the
rear.
900i with LPG - is it possible? how?27 Jun 2004 17:10 GMT5
In a few days I'll get a Saab 900i '87, I hope. Considering petrol price
nowadays, I'll need an LPG installation.
but...
Some people from workshops I've called said they won't do LPG in a car
99 9-5 Turbo?  TSB on blue puff at start?27 Jun 2004 16:04 GMT4
I remember reading about a TSB on cleaning the oil trap on the early 9-5's
that cause a blue puff on startup.  My 9-5 has started to do this, but I
can't find the docs on what to do about it.
I took the car to the dealer, they told me that the turbo is starting to go
Rear shocks for a c900  which ones?27 Jun 2004 12:53 GMT2
Hello fellas,
The rear (and I'm sure the fronts as well) shocks have crapped out on my
c900. It's a n/a 900s conv which had been neglect abused by the former
owner. The Bentley book says only use Saab shocks. I'm currently looking at
Do I have a clutch cable?27 Jun 2004 12:46 GMT2
I've got a 1998 SAAB 900S... I read somewhere that this year they
switched over. I know the 1999 9-3 went back hydraulic. How do you tell?
Thanks,
-meld
Trailer Hitch on 2004 9-3 Aero27 Jun 2004 12:28 GMT7
After trying the roof mounted bike racks a couple times, it seems that
the trailer hitch mounted carrier is a better setup.  How easy is it to
mount the trailer hitch on an Aero (rear bumper skirt)?  The catalog
says "dealer installation recommended," but is it something I can do ...
What to look out for on 99s?26 Jun 2004 18:46 GMT3
I quite fancy myself a SAAB 99. What breaks? Where do the rust? All the
usual bits and pieces. Any decent websites?
thud when braking in reverse (and I didn't run over the cat!)26 Jun 2004 10:17 GMT12
My darling 900 T16 '87 announces my arrival whenever I pull up anywhere with
a nifty parallel park as, as I brake for the first time when stopping
reversing I get a klunk from somewhere near the n/s/f wheel.  it doesn't do
it again until I drive forward, brake, and then brake in ...
Howcome the 1998 Saab 9-5 wasn't available in the US?26 Jun 2004 05:10 GMT11
I'm in the market for a used car and my budget is $12,700 and my dad
will also let me trade in a beatup old 1994 Lincoln Town Car with
250,000 miles on it.
If the 1998 Saab 9-5 was available in the US, it would probably be the
2002 9-5 2.3 A/T whirring sound on startup25 Jun 2004 18:19 GMT5
Get this whirring sound on a cold startup, disappears when engine warms a
little.
Sound only seems to appear when vehicle has stood for long enough to cool
down and is restarted.
