anyone tell me what to expect if i replace my alternator in my 1992 saab
conv 900 s.  Is it difficult to do or should I have the dealer do It.

I've just bought a 2001 9-3 (2.0 lpt) convertible which is great apart
from two very annoying problems that I'd like to sort without having
to resort to a dealer:
1) When I switch off the ignition I get half a dozen (ish) loud knocks

What is the best way to take the SE badges off the front wing of my
9-3? It looks like they stick on as I cannot feel any bolts on the
inside, but I'm sure that there is a better way than just prising them
off.

I'm helping my friend with his ancient saab 900 86' which has a
carburator. It died suddenly on the road and won't start again, but the
plugs spark ok, gas is pumped into the cylinders (you can smell it in

I am looking for a fund car to replace my everyday 2.0 focus and my weekend
911SC - I want a fast (ish) convertible - hence I am drawn to the 93.

My ignition cassette makes a buzzing noise for a couple seconds when I turn
off the engine. Then a single click and it stops. Is this normal. It runs
great while running and has no other problems that I am aware of.

My 2002 saab 9-3 shudders when i put the car into reverse...after a cold
start.
My turbo gage goes into the beginning orange range, which after i put the
car into drive goes back to the beginning green area and the car drives

I wish car manufacturers put roll bars in cars(made to protect from
roof collapse in a rollover and made in such a way as to not hurt the
driver or passengers in a side impact).
I wish car manufacturers would also use 4 point seat belts, and have

Glove box light won't come on.
All others work fine.
Bulb is OK.

Further to my recent post regarding the oil pressure dissapearing in my
1990 2.3NA we got round to removing the (newish) oil pump rotors and
found nasty things.
There were slices of what appears to be either a pin or a needle roller

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good Saab mechanic in the Miami, Fl
area? If possible West Broward county or Doral.

I've been driving my 1993 9000 CSE in the UK for a year now & I love it.
However, I recently noticed the floor is always damp under the rubber mat
(even when it hasn't been raining).  Some websites suggest it might be
leakage from the air con.. but I don't have it. I've also checked ...

I actually bought a Saab with 8 miles on it!! It's the new 2004
Linear. I could not afford the Arc or the Aero, but it's my third
Saab, and my first new one.
