My 1989 900S 16V cost me the grand total of ?150 four months ago. I took it
for MOT today. It passed with flying colours! All I've done in the time I've
had it is replace a washer jet.. fantastic!  Pity about the jumping out of
3rd gear/reverse though....

I got this 1990 Saab 9000s (190.000 km) recently. It seems it might
have problems and I may be stuck with it. I need some advice.
I took the car to the Saab servcice. The guy told me "Knocking sounds

I'm looking at a 1997 9000 w/ 93,000K. The car looks like it was really

Bleeding 86 900T clutch?22 Jul 2004 11:47 GMT6
The clutch hose on my 900T popped. I got a used one and have installed it.
Used a crows foot 13 mm to detach/attach the front end at the slave cyl.
Now they say to use a cooling system pressure tester to bleed. I found one
at Harbor Freight for $80.
1996 McPherson struts22 Jul 2004 11:22 GMT5
Is it difficult to replace McPherson struts on a Saab 900S?
My Saab has 80,000 miles and I think it's time to change the shocks.
The rear shocks look easy to work on but the front struts are
intimidating with the coil spring wrapped around it and the steering

Timing Chains - I like the sound! 22 Jul 2004 08:49 GMT6
Just an opinion... I *like* the sound of a motor with a timing chain
instead of a belt. Whoever decided that a motor sounded better without
that little "whir" is a heathen and an abhorrence to automotive
tradition!
Suspension upgrade ..22 Jul 2004 03:24 GMT4
I'd like to upgrade stock suspension in my '99 9-3 FPT. I'm not looking for
racing extremes or ultimate lowering of car, but something that [oops] would
make my Saab drive like BMW [/oops] without lowering it more than 1.5"
(40mm). So, I'd like to have something that is not too ...
Impreza RS sport v/s 9-2X22 Jul 2004 03:12 GMT1
If someone has test-driven both the Impreza RS sport and the 9-2X I
would appreciate your comments. The price difference is not that much
and the 9-2X as a bit of a nicer interior + 4years warranty v/s 3.
Besides that...

I just got a 1990 Saab 9000S 16V 2.3 L.
Today there was a leak today because of a hole on a radiator hose. So
I cut a bit of it and reattached the hose temporarily until I replace
the hose tomorrow. But now my engine temperature gauge sits at low and

Turbo leakage on 86 900T21 Jul 2004 04:11 GMT10
My 86 900T has been making a "SHHHHHH" sound for about 3 years now when the
turbo is boosting. I did not initially notice a lack of power, but now,
going up steep hills at 6,000 feet elevation, I do notice a lack of power.
As part of a clutch hydraulic hose replacement (see earlier ...

Anyone have opinions of a 1994 900 V6 with an automatic transmission?
Yes, I drive Classics with manual transmission, but this is for someone
else, who does not drive manual transmission.  This is car is a four
door with 94K miles.  This car will be the first car for a teenage
