17 inch versus 16 wheels saab 9-514 Jul 2004 15:21 GMT2
I just bought a used 2003 Saab 9-5 Sport wagon with 17 inch wheels. I
am seriously thinking of converting to 16 inch wheels for improved
tire wear, ride and traction, especially in the winter months. Does
anyone have any suggestions or comments. Am I overly concerned?  The

My quest for a new 9-5 gets ever closer.
What is the timescale from order to delivery?

Hood emblem adhesive13 Jul 2004 21:41 GMT1
What adhesive do I need to use to replace the hood emblem on my 900?
Car is full of water13 Jul 2004 19:11 GMT3
My 2000 Saab 9-5 is full of water.  I can hear running water
while I drive and it is wet under the front seats.
I took my car into my mechanic about two months ago, he
drained the water out of my car frame and he said he fixed
Ventilation fan - 92' 9000CS - doesn't work13 Jul 2004 12:12 GMT3
Two days ago I bought 92' 9000 CS 2.3T. Everything works fine except for
ventilation fan. I have checked fan itself and it works, however, with
ignition ON buttons on the climate control unit do not make fan work. Do you
have any ideas what could be causing this?
Blower fan noise13 Jul 2004 12:09 GMT4
My 97 9000 Aero has developed an intermittent squeaking coming from the air
conditioning blower. It's probably a bearing in the fan rather than a
problem with the blower motor itself. When the fan is squeaking and I turn a
corner, the squeaking stops, then restarts when I resume ...
Question about CV joints13 Jul 2004 05:47 GMT5
Hello again Saab experts!  My '90 900 non-turbo is starting to make clunking
sounds from the front axle when I make hard turns.  I'm guessing this is the
outer CV joints. The car has about 75,000 miles.  My question is whether I need
to replace both the inner and outer CV joints to ...
Do even Soccer Moms and Grandmas have Superchargers or Twin Turbos in their cars these days?13 Jul 2004 00:24 GMT11
I accelerate normally when I get a green light at the stop light and
like 95% of the time I'm the slowest accelerating vehicle on the road
and the cars that were in parallell lanes always out accelerate me by
a mile and the cars behind me are always tailgaiting when I'm

Any suggestions for good insurance for  a new driver to the US who is

Climate control12 Jul 2004 21:51 GMT1
Is it possible (read: relatively easy and not too expensive) to
install the automatic climate control system to replace the manual AC
system?
My '97 900 has the manual AC but I really would like the auto system
Saab 9000 hazard lights12 Jul 2004 16:04 GMT4
When I try to put my hazard warning lights on nothing happens unless I move
the indicator stalk up or down after pressing the hazard button. Any ideas
why?

Left at the lights12 Jul 2004 11:01 GMT9
I was left standing at the lights today. By a Mondeo. To make matters worse
it was a diesel. I love my 1993 9000CS 2 litre. I've had it for just over a
year now..... but is there something wrong with it? Or do I need a 2.3l? A
turbo? An Aero? Or can my own car be "tuned" for better ...
Headlight wiper motors12 Jul 2004 09:44 GMT2
The car is 1997 (9000 LPT).  A while back one of the headlight wiper
motors went, as the car was going at the dealer's anyway I asked to have
it replaced.  They never kept the old unit despite having asked them to
do so.  (the new one cost an arm and a leg).  BAsically I had ...
Mud Flaps11 Jul 2004 23:56 GMT11
I have a US '97 900.
Why are the mud flaps located along the middle of each side of the car
as opposed to being near the tires?
I'm tired of going over speed bumps and high curbs and hearing scraping
Turbo Timer11 Jul 2004 23:31 GMT5
Hello eveybody in Saab newsgroup land.  I have a 1999 9-3 se, with updated
ecu blow-off and boost control valve.  I have tweaked it so that I am
running at max boost.  But, my question is, would it be worth it to install
a turbo timer, or has anybody else installed one.  I was ...
