[Classic 99] Is this an acceptable conversion04 Jul 2004 13:42 GMT5
One more for those knowledgeable in all matters of classic SAAB. I'll
be looking at an '80 99 Turbo (2-door, black - just what the doctor
ordered) in a couple of days. Supposedly the car is in good condition
and the pictures seem to confirm this, even discounting that all cars
Need tire advice on 02 9-3 5dr04 Jul 2004 13:37 GMT3
The standard size is 205/55-16 on my 02 9-3. I'm interested in getting a
wider tire (as in more rubber on the pavement) on factory rims. Can I
get 215/55-16 on these rims? Is this possible? One thing I read about
increasing tire width is that the speedometer may not be as ...

My dealer doesn't seem to know if the car has an MP3 socket.. as far as I
could see the AERO just has the 12v socket in the console: I've orederd a

What Really Is the 3.0lL V6 in the '95 9000CDE03 Jul 2004 21:48 GMT3
Does anyone know where the V6 came from?  It is marked in several
places with the GM trademark.  I am wondering if it is not the Buick
V6 with some SAAB enhancements.  Also wondering if it can be replaced
with one of the larger GM V6's like the 3.1 or 3.5L?
Is this a problem?03 Jul 2004 20:00 GMT12
According to all I've seen, there should be 3 wires running to my
alternator.  I have 2, I have the 2 threaded (battery, and ground)
connections, but am missing the 'slip on' flat connecting wire.  Would
this stop my voltage regulator from working?
Diagram for 97 900se alternator?03 Jul 2004 13:01 GMT4
day 3...
Does anyone have this in a manual that they can email, fax, etc?  I
found the manual I need, but it's in England.  I'm having some
difficulty figuring out how the alternator bolts onto the engine.
Need advise on SAAB-Aero 200403 Jul 2004 04:43 GMT2

Do the Volvo S80 and Saab 9-5 have center fuel tanks or rear fuel tanks?03 Jul 2004 01:54 GMT8
Right now the car I drive most is my dad's 2000 Lincoln Town car, and
I just don't feel like it's a very safe car.
For one thing it only has a 4 star rating in the EASY NHTSA front
crash test and only a 4 star rating in the side crash test, and it

It needed to be asked :-)
Follow-Up: Boost problems got fixed!03 Jul 2004 00:06 GMT9
I have been posting here about my boost problem ('99 9-3 FPT), which was
intermittent in the beginning, but then turned into being temperature
related. At the end, I got more or less normal boost when engine was cold,
but barely base boost when engine came hot. Problem also appeared ...

I Test drove a 9-2x02 Jul 2004 13:25 GMT15
Well I had to take the Viggen in to the shop for some minor warrenty
work and while there I took a spin in the new Saabaru 9-2x Aero.
To say i was underwhelmed would be an understatement. Now not having
driven the Subaru tht is the basis for this car, I can't make any direct
Saab 9000 2.0cd (90) Ignition woes02 Jul 2004 11:00 GMT1
On my way to work the car just died.
After returning home I checked the engine and found no spark so I replaced
the ignition impulse module as everything I have read said this was the most
likely cause, but the thing still will not start.
Service Manual02 Jul 2004 02:34 GMT6
Hi folks,  Does anyone have a recommendation for a service manual
(2001 9-3)?  Is there another option besides the offical $$$$aab
Service Manual?  I remember someone discussing the CD manuals
available at ebay, I wasn't able to find the thread.  Does anyone have
