Engine keeps running31 Aug 2004 03:24 GMT1
My father has just bought a 1997 9000 2.3t CSE and it has a strange problem.
If the headlight switch is in the off position, the ignition key switch
works fine.
If the headlights are on, when you switch the key off and even take the key
Saab got hurt!!!!31 Aug 2004 03:03 GMT27
I was creeping along in a school zone at 20 miles an hour and a woman pulled
out of an apartment complex and ran right into the passenger side of the car.

Claimed she didn't see me. Must be the only stealth 9000CS in existence. A
Washing 9-3 Convertible29 Aug 2004 11:34 GMT7
Just about to buy a 2000 9-3 Convertible (drool;-))...not having has a soft
top before...I just wondered is there any special way to wash the roof? Do I
use ordinary car washes and soaps or do I have to buy something especially
for the purpose?
The Fourth Screw28 Aug 2004 23:37 GMT2
I replacing the rheostat dimmer switch on my '88 900s, I can only find
three of the four long screws that hold the dash face in place.  I
found the three to the left of the dash, but there is still one holding
things together in the vicinity of the ventilation controls or radio.
NEED HELP W/'94 900 COMMEMORATIVE CONV.28 Aug 2004 23:25 GMT2
Here's my problem:
I'll be driving along, cd playing and headlights on, and when I apply
the brake, the cd player stops momentarily, the headlights "blink" for
a second, then all's well.
Saab documentary28 Aug 2004 17:32 GMT2
I just saw a 1994 documentary of Saab motors on the history channel here in
good old New Zealand. Just at the time of the takeover by GM.
Very interesting, especially the stunt driving of the early 9000's! Did not
realise the rally history of the marque.
Sticky Reverse28 Aug 2004 08:53 GMT2
I have a 1996 Saab with 120K miles and it is annoyingly difficult to put into
reverse. How easy/expensive is this to fix or is this sign of a terminal
gearbox problem, or clutch?
Please email me with useful suggestions.
Brakes - Saab or not?27 Aug 2004 15:27 GMT8
I wonder if I could get a few opinions here about brakes, i.e. is it
imperative to have Saab or Saab-approved people fit Saab-branded pads or
does anyone use 'regular' fitters and non-Saab pads?
I have a '99 9-5 SE Estate (Wagon) and I'm sure much like other folks here
Vent next to 9-5 rear window & sidenote on DI casettes27 Aug 2004 15:15 GMT2
Looking at a 9-5 today (for UK 2005 market, if it matters), I
noticed a vent running along the base of the rear window and
wondered what it does.  Would this be to stop misting?
BTW, when I asked informally at the parts dept about the current

Things I didn't know about my Saab.27 Aug 2004 03:28 GMT5
After owning my Saab 93' 9k since 1997, it is nice to lately discover
new features I didn't know about before. Today, while driving in a slight
drizzle, I had the wipers set at the intermittent rate. When I did the
screen washer, the wipers continued for four strokes before ...
