AC Advice19 Aug 2004 12:45 GMT1
I have a 91 900S and the air conditioner isn't working.  It has a
history of me taking it to the shop, them looking for leaks, not
finding any and then charging the system.  The AC works for most of
the summer and then it peters out and stops working.  So clearly there
9000 Boost Problems, rush of air from nearside (uk car)19 Aug 2004 12:38 GMT4
My 9000 CSE 2.3 Full Pressure Turbo is giving me grief. ( a-bloody-gain!)
When I hit the accelerator there is a rush of air from somewhere on the
nearside of the engine bay.  It only does this under load, I cant reproduce
with the car standing.
Convertible top - can you raise&lower it manually repeatedly?18 Aug 2004 23:35 GMT1
I have a 97 convertible with the power top.  The motor for the tonneau cover
is failing.  We've had to raise the top manually, leaving the gap in the
rear between the tonneau cover and the rear part of the top.
My question - once you manually raise the top, it is possible to ...

though :-) It all works too now.
I went to Maplins today and got some resistors to tweak the APC a little.
Wish I could find the soldering iron though :-(
OT: Glas?18 Aug 2004 10:58 GMT1
In the late 1960s, I saw a neat-looking car driving around
Wilhelmshaven, Deutschland (DFR in those days).  It was a
Glas (2.0 liter) and looked like the classic Thunderbird.
Does anyone know anything about the Glas' pedigree?

9000 Reverse Gear18 Aug 2004 04:45 GMT2
On my 94 Saab 9000 2.3i my (manual shift) reverse gear keeps jumping out.
Once reverse is selected you have to hold it there by hand because if you
don't and apply pressure to the gearbox by letting the clutch go it simply
jumps out and starts to grind teeth.
Saab 900 heat won't turn off17 Aug 2004 22:32 GMT1
I have a 1990 Saab 900 Turbo.  I need to know if I've messed up my
heating/A/C or if it is legitimately broken, and what to do about it.
I was about to attempt to remove the facia to replace my dash
instrument light bulbs.  I was getting it out but had second thoughts

Sudden Saab Death Problem17 Aug 2004 13:56 GMT19
A friend's 1995 900S Convertible (110k miles)just dies without warning
when she's driving it.  Shop mechanic says no fault codes indicate
anything wrong.   He can't diagnose or fix it without it going dead in
front of him.  She can't trust the car now for transportation.
Saab 9-5: Another DI cassette story16 Aug 2004 22:28 GMT29
I've gotten a lot of information from the group here since I bought my SAAB,
a 2000 9-5 SE (V6) wagon, so I thought I'd add my latest experience to the
group knowledge.
My SAAB wagon has 55,000 miiles on it and is maintained well. The

Necessity of service16 Aug 2004 11:13 GMT11
Hi, all. I just wanted some opinions, if you don;t mind.
I have a 1999 9-5 with ~47k miles on it. The "Time for service" message
came on recently, and I was planning on doing just that.
The Saab dealer told me that 50k service is change oil, rotate tires,
OK, the T16S is for sale. UK, Cheshire.16 Aug 2004 11:07 GMT22
1984 registered on a UK B plate, very early flat front T16S (Aero kit,
duck tailspoiler and aero 3 spokes).
I've decided, I need something a little more modern, and less thirsty,
and smaller.
