Old Saab parts fiches online?06 Aug 2004 03:06 GMT11
I've got a full set of Saab parts catalogs on microfilm, from the
2-stroke days up to the end of the 93/95/96/97 era.  I also now have
a scanner capable of scanning them legibly.  Two questions:
First, would people find this useful?
1994 SAAB AERO 9000 RADIATOR PROBLEMS05 Aug 2004 20:21 GMT1
The car (125K miles) developed a huge leak on the transmission oil. My
mechanic tells me that the transmission oil is cooled by the radiator water
and it looks like the radiator let loose allowing water to mix with oil.
(The radiator was replaced 2 years ago with a brand-new SAAB ...
Air cond display unit 93SE05 Aug 2004 18:38 GMT1
Anyone got any ideas on a low cost fix for the LCD climate control display
on my 98' 93SE convertible.  The display started to fade about 6 months ago
(must be the bright Aussie sunshine) and now has completely faded.  I have
been quoted $550 Australian dollars for a complete new ...
99Turbo timing chain tensioner install?05 Aug 2004 03:53 GMT2
It's been a while since I lived in the "B-engine" world...can someone
refresh my memory on installing a timing chain tensioner for, in this
case, a 99 Turbo?

Change Language computer Saab 9-3 ?04 Aug 2004 21:12 GMT1
I have bought a German SAAB 9-3 (Model Cabrio 1998) and therefore all the
information in the "board"computer is in the German language. Can anyone
tell me if it is possible to change this in another language, by example in
my case Dutch ?
Dump Valve Fitment - 1984 T1604 Aug 2004 21:10 GMT1
Hi Again,
Carl - you may have answered this already, so apologies if so.
My car definitely has NO dump valve. I was thinking the cheapest solution
would be to get a s/h forge atmos valve
how do you replace bulb in a switch ?04 Aug 2004 21:06 GMT6

'95 900 2.3i: Regular maintenance04 Aug 2004 19:39 GMT1
I bought a '95 900 2.3i last year with 115k and put another 20k on it
since.
After a new alternator, a new clutch and now bad motor mounts I was
wondering what regular/scheduled maintenance at what intervals I
Octane rating effect on engine wear?04 Aug 2004 15:25 GMT5
The user's manual says the 9-5 will run just fine with lower octane
fuel, but also says it was designed to run on higher octane.  My 2001 V6
seems to run well on the lower octane.  But I was wondering about engine
wear--does the octane level affect it?  The dealer just had to ...
What to look for on a 900 classic04 Aug 2004 12:56 GMT3
I'm looking for my first car at the moment. I'm looking for something
special and I don't know why but the Saab 900 classic does it for me.
I'm looking at a 1992 Saab 900 2.0i 16 or a 1991 Saab 900 2.1i 16. Both car
have done around 250.000 kilometers, which is a lot, but that also ...
Missing dump/bov valve? Or did it not have one originally?03 Aug 2004 21:57 GMT15
My 1984  T16 doesn't appear to have any dump valve at all? Is this correct?
I thought I'd read somewhere that all 16 valve turbos
had them? My 1987 model did, but I've had all the pipes off and there is
nothing at all where the dump valve should be.
Blue smoke03 Aug 2004 20:08 GMT1
Hi.  I own a 2000 9-5 2.3t.  I recently had the 48,000 mile service, in the
course of which the mechanic put some flushing agent through the engine
because the 'emissions were too high'.  3,500 miles later the exhaust is
still billowing blue-grey smoke on start-up, and occasionally ...
rain water in ignition03 Aug 2004 18:41 GMT1
I have a 1993 sabb 900 turbo convertible. Despite the problems I still love
the car. Here's the newest issue. The driver's side window doesn't go up or
down when it is humid (this is what I deduced) but the real problem is it
rained before I could cover the window opening and rain ...
