Just bought a Saab 9.3 Linear, thoughts?20 Sep 2004 22:42 GMT2
So far so good. Never thought I'd own a Saab but after test driving tons of
cars the Saab just grabbed me. The 0% financing for 60 months was a
motivating factor as well :) The only upgrade I got was an automatic
transmission. I traded in a 99 V6 Galant with 86000 miles on it, the ...
GM RECALL #0404020 Sep 2004 20:36 GMT1
Has anyone heard about this?  It effects 31,335 2003-2004 Saab 9-3 Sport
Sedans. The NHTSA Recall number is 04V-226.
This is to replace the Automatic Tensioning System (ATS) cable in the seat
belts.
Why is my  car running so rich? C90020 Sep 2004 19:01 GMT6
My car  - 1984 T16 - appears to be running rich. The plugs are very sooty,
and at most I seem to get abour 60 miles out of ?10 of petrol, way worse
than
my previous T16. I usually got around 90 or 100 miles from that out of ?10
Igintion System burning20 Sep 2004 02:53 GMT2
I just picked up  a 2001 Saab 95 this week. I ran great and we love it. I was
turning a corner today and it stalled , and never started again. I smelled
something burning like burnt resistors.  I opened the hood and under the
igintion plate their was smoke. It is under warranty and ...
Adding Remote Central Locking20 Sep 2004 01:48 GMT5
Having run out of amusing gadgets in my 1988 9000i, I figured I wanted
remote controlled central locking. Is there a way to add this easily? Is
there a possibility to add an aftermarket relay (if the system includes a
relay, of which I am not sure), or can electronics from a later ...

UK: dumped maybe stolen CS 9000 2.3 Turbo S.16 Sep 2004 23:24 GMT10
Does anyone know the owner of a red CS 9000 2.3 Turbo S with leather
interior reg number J743 RRD.
It's been parked on the Tesco Warrington for the last month or so, but I
assumed it was a staff car.
headliner repair16 Sep 2004 23:20 GMT4
We're getting ready to sell my wife's 1990 900 S and want to do some fix up
first. In the last 6 months the headliner began to sag and has lately really
begun to let go. I checked with a local shop and found the cost to be about
$375 for them to do it. I do most of the lesser ...
c900 windshield washer: mystery deepens16 Sep 2004 08:34 GMT4
I posted a few days ago that my windshield wipers/washer had started running
constantly, and were only stopped when I pulled the headlamp wiper fuse (#8;
the car is a 1992). I have now noted that the wipers still work normally,
including the intermittent function, and that the ...
"service theft alarm" on SID16 Sep 2004 07:54 GMT1
last week the trusty 9-5 did this, hit clear and it went away.  Didn't
happen for a couple of weeks
did it again today?
any clues?
"Fill Coolant Level" - ??15 Sep 2004 19:58 GMT6
How often should this message appear on the SID for a 2000 9-3?
It's only been a couple of thousand miles since it was topped up as part of
the service. Do Saabs drink coolant like my old VW Bora drank oil
(regularly, but with no adverse effects)?
Saab parts and service question15 Sep 2004 19:37 GMT2
Just bought a 1995 Saab 900 SE convertible. Nice car but needs a
little work. Was wondering where the best place is to buy parts at a
reasonable price and are there any Saab mechanics who work on the side
near Richmond, Va. I am finding out that these are pretty exspensive

alternator, oil...  filter maybe?

Is there a schematic showing the connections of the vacuum hoses from the
a/c selector to wherever they go?
New 9-3 not so bad after all?14 Sep 2004 16:21 GMT3
As I picked up an oil filter from my Saab dealer, I was handed a Top Gear
Special (BBC) comprehensive report on small executive cars. The cars tested
were:
Saab 9-3, Audi A4, BMW 3, Alfa 156, Jaguar X, Merc C, Lexus IS, MG ZT,
