Question about B motor timing chain14 Sep 2004 05:57 GMT3
I'm not a Saab owner, let me get that out first.
I'm working on a project and an trying to find out what
version/years/models of the 99 and 900 B motor got a double row timing
chain.  From what I've been able to tell, some got one, some got the other,
Considering purchasing a 1996 900S 5-door14 Sep 2004 04:03 GMT1
The thing I keep hearing about Saabs in general is the hefty repair costs.
Does this apply also to the GM-manufactured models? Thank you for any and
all replies.
Saab 9000 Hazard Lights - followup13 Sep 2004 23:49 GMT7
There was a thread here a couple of months ago about hazard lights on 9000's
only working when the indicators were switched on.
I also had this problem at the time on my '96 9000CSE - the hazard lights
didn't work unless the ignition was turned on and the right indicator

anyone. I have the head from a 89 turbo 2.0 that was just rebuilt. Will it

2001 9-3 Stalls11 Sep 2004 05:13 GMT1
Twice in the last 1000 miles, my 2001 Saab 9-3 SE AT (49.3K miles)
stalled while on a highway.  On both occassions, I was starting to
speed up sligthly after slowing down for congestion ahead -- approx 40
mph when it stalled.  What made things worse is that the car wouldn't

MOT day for 'money-pit'10 Sep 2004 18:03 GMT10
It's MOT day for the Saab 9000 CS Aero Turbo. My wife calls this car 'the
money-pit' but it's the best car I have ever driven. Hazard lights have
packed up, ABS light comes on intermittently, washer bottle leaks, rear
wiper stopped, ....what else will they find? First owner of this ...
Check Engine..900s10 Sep 2004 16:24 GMT9
Had the car (1997) for a bout two months.. and I'm getting the message on
startup and running. At first it was intermittent.. now it's always there.
Handbook isn't very helpful.. WhatI'd like to know is.. could it be serious?
is it likely to be serious?

9000CS fog lights10 Sep 2004 08:57 GMT7
I've been offered a great deal on a set of 9000 fog lights (from someone on
Ebay).
The seller says they're from a '91 CDE and I've got a '93 CS...
Anyone know if they would fit? He also mentions "no backing brackets
winterizing saab 9-510 Sep 2004 05:45 GMT5
I just bought a new old 9-5 (2001) in Montreal, Canada, where the
winter is not so gentle. I am considering spraying the underside with
a winter protectant -- standard protocol for winter rust-prrofing. Is
it worth doing this? Or is the orginal rust proofing good enough?
