[Saab_c900] where is the ignition control unit on my 1983 900S?16 Oct 2004 13:47 GMT3
My 1983 900S should, going on the Bentley manual, be fitted with an
electronic ignition control unit mounted near the wheel well in the left
side fender cavity (where it is in my 1985 900i), but it's not there! The
manufacturing plate on the car says it was actually built in the ...
Fuel type for Saab 1985 900i (new owner)16 Oct 2004 12:52 GMT23
Bought my first Saab today! A 1985 900i, in rather nice condition
as far as I can see. The girl I bought it from told me that she
used unleaded fuel, but the sticker on the fuel tank says "RON98".
Should I use leaded or unleaded fuel?
1994 9000 Cabin Air Temp Sensor16 Oct 2004 10:20 GMT1
So the buzzing I heard wasn't the clock, was it?
It was this damn thing below it. Can it come out?
The others surrounding it push out rather easily...
oxogen sensor 1992 saab 900 2.116 Oct 2004 00:56 GMT1
Check engine light on and seems like slight power loss.  Does this sound
like a sensor problem.  I have 127k and have never replaced the sensor.
                             Thanks papa

Hi Guys - just bought a 2000 9-3 Convertible and am hooked on Saabs now!
Dumb Question time: Is it normal for my SID to display "Test Brakes" every
time I start the car? The sales guy said this is normal and pressing the
brake pedal removes the prompt.
Lag, During Acceleration?15 Oct 2004 00:41 GMT1
In my '95 Saab 9000CS, everytime I try to accelerate to the car's potential,
I get some sort of lag...Any clue what it is?
I thought it might be the alternator or something, but the tensioner/pulley
system is in tact

Slight run-on after turning the car off14 Oct 2004 00:24 GMT12
My car is an '89 model C900 T8.
It's had a service recently and feels great, but sometimes (usually the
colder days) and running 98 RON petrol (I usually run 97 RON supermarket
SUL) I get a slight run-on when the engine has been shut off.
Come Get It13 Oct 2004 20:52 GMT2
After looking about and asking a few people, I have given up on the idea of
installing a turbo engine in my NA 900.  However I have this engine and
xmission in my garage and can't pull my car inside.  Would someone like to
come get this thing out of my garage?  Free to good home. ...

I'm thinking of buying my first Saab and am looking at a 9-5, either 2.0lpt
or 2.3lpt.  I'm expecting to be able to afford about a '98 or '99 model with
around 60-80K miles.
I've read a bit about things to look out for (blue smoke on start-up, oil
Saab saved!!!12 Oct 2004 21:02 GMT3
The news here in Denmark today tells that Opel in Germany is going to fyre
7000 of 12000 employes. This must be an indication, that Saab in the future
is going to take over some of the production of Opel cars.
Cheers!
