C900 front rotor screw size?22 Nov 2004 20:21 GMT10
A friend of mine just bought an '86 900, and it needs front rotors.  Those
are on order, but I remember there's a torx-head screw holding the rotor
to the hub.  Does anyone know what size torx bit he needs for that?

Opinions about new SAAB 92x21 Nov 2004 19:22 GMT8
I am currently in the market for a new car.  I am looking at the new volvo
S40 (AWD T5 version), the SAAB 92X (Turbo AWD version) and the Subaru WRX
(not sti).  From my research all 3 cars appeal to me and are up my budget.
I have heard that the SAAB is merely a Subaru WRX engine ...
9-5 tires21 Nov 2004 19:16 GMT4
My 215/55-16 summer tires are worn out.  Put the snows on yesterday.
When I get new tires, I'm thinking "bigger"
235/50 is essentially the same outer diameter as 215/55, 245/45 is a little
bit smaller, but not much. The 245 is about an inch wider though.
Better than Haynes manual?21 Nov 2004 16:45 GMT7
Anyone know where I can source a manual (1992 9000 2.3 Carlsson) that is
better than the Haynes one?

Would really appriciate if anyone has links to any used parts for saab
links. Also, if anyone knows reputable places to get performance parts
for saabs, specifically "classic" models.
SAAB 9-5 driving seat21 Nov 2004 09:15 GMT7
I recently bought my first Saab, a 1998 9-5 2.3t SE auto.  What a hell
of a car (specially for the money)!  Looks, performance, equipment and
a promise of legendary durability.  With 120,000 miles on the clock,
the interior is like new, the body is almost unmarked and everything -

using centre console from RHD 1989 classic 900 in 1982/83 900S?20 Nov 2004 00:48 GMT2
I have an opportunity to buy a centre console removed from a 1989
right-hand drive classic 900, and all the info I've gathered including
looking very closely at my car suggests that I can use the centre console
as a direct addition to my car after I modify the way that the ashtry
New wheels?19 Nov 2004 22:05 GMT21
I recently purchased a Saab 95 Aero. I will be needing to add snow tires in
a few weeks.
Can I buy steel rims for the winter and mount something other than the
"skinny" (low profile) 225/45/R17 aluminum wheels that came with the car? I
Sluggish Tachy19 Nov 2004 21:35 GMT1
Ho Folks,
on my 1989 9000 the tachy doesn't work until after maybe 5 minutes running.
The reading then slowly increases from zero, gradually rising, and then
suddenly works properly. I had exactly the same simptom on the speedo of an
94 9000 blower speeds racing up/down19 Nov 2004 13:31 GMT2
My 94 9000 climate control blower speeds started racing up/down recently.
Doesn't matter how the Acc is set (auto/econ, temp etc.) No fault codes come
up in diagnostics mode. I read elswhere that the fan motor brushes may be at
fault. Looking for ideas to repair before the snow ...
changing Timing chain and balance chain18 Nov 2004 19:56 GMT16
My Mreg 1995 NG900 has done 140000. Recently the enging has developed loud
rattle that quietens when warm.
I have been advised it could be timing and or balance shaft chains. Do these
need the engine to be taken out to replace or can they be bone in car?
Rotor removal18 Nov 2004 15:44 GMT2
Trying to install new front rotors on my 1997 Saab 900SE convertible but
can't get the old ones off.
Tried some gentle persuasion with a hammer but no luck.  Is it normal that
these need a puller to pop them free?  Yes, I did remove the set screw first
