Saab Quick?08 Jan 2005 00:10 GMT16
Does my Saab have a problem?
I have a 98 Saab 9-5 5 speed manual (my first Saab) and I regularly see
other Saab owners saying that they are quick, however, I would not have
listed this as one of their strengths.  I love the Saab for other reason's

SAAB 9-5 PCV Issues06 Jan 2005 18:29 GMT2
Not so long ago, Dave Hinz asked about his failed PCV in the SAAB 9-5.
I just noticed something on one of the forum boards I frequent and
thought it of value to the group:

Looking for a private mechanic in the Atlanta area.04 Jan 2005 15:19 GMT7
If a Saab expert wants to make some money quickly, I believe I have a
fairly minor problem with my '88 900T. The problem is with the gears.
Whatever is involved with locating gears with the stick is the problem.
It's stuck in one gear. The clutch still works, but will only engage

Hello all,
when pressing the brakes, the revs die & sometimes the engine cuts out. It starts again fine for a time but this
keeps happening!
HELP: 9-3 cluth replaced. Gear's change very stiff04 Jan 2005 01:04 GMT4
I would be very grateful for some help. I have a 1998/9 Saab 9-3 2.0
SE Turbo.
Over the weekend the local garage replaced my clutch (the previous one
was completely worn out). Now with the introduction of the new clutch,
Check Engine Light03 Jan 2005 20:01 GMT3
Doesn't the Bosch universal sensor 13913--the one that was designed for
Mustangs and everyone has said works for most every car--work for mine? I
installed it, and at first there seemed to be no problem.
Now, my "check engine light" won't go out..

99 9-5 5-speed?03 Jan 2005 02:20 GMT3
I am in the Denver Metro area.
I have been looking for a 9000 5-speed. Not much luck.
Now I am considering maybe a 99 9-5 5-speed.
Anything to watch out for? Advice on this or other years welcome.
"normal" repairs?02 Jan 2005 22:16 GMT24
I own the 2001 9.3 model. Recently I was hit with over $2k worth of
repairs (strut, throttle, serpantine belt, side lamp, induction
service, tune-up) -- all happening over a period of 2 days. Is this
"normal" for a vehicle of this type?
DTE - how low have you seen it go ?02 Jan 2005 18:49 GMT4
This is for newer Saabs with the electronic Distance to Empty (DTE)
display. And, yes, it's a stupid question with no apparent purpose,
but I'm curious.
I regularly drive mine down to 20 or less. The other day I drove it
Early 90's Saabs - reliable?01 Jan 2005 21:58 GMT16
I'm considering buying an early 90's Saab (not sure which model yet)
with about 200,000kms of mileage and an automatic transmission.
1.  I'd like to know if they are reliable at that age and mileage.
2.  Are there any common problems to keep an eye out for?
