Brake job $$$13 Feb 2005 20:46 GMT19
Holy cow!  I bought Rotors from eeuroparts.com to take them to the
Import car shop to keep the cost down when they do a brake job on my
97 SE.  With me providing all 4 rotors, them putting new pads on, it's
still almost $500!  I wonder how difficult it is to do a brake job
Vibration13 Feb 2005 19:52 GMT6
Just bought a 2001 93 lpt convertible. At 30mph there is a very noticeable
vibration which seems to come from the back wheels, as you go over 30mph the
vibration stops. When I test drove the car this didn't happen. Since then,
the garage changed the discs all round and put on 4 ...

I have a problem I was hoping to get some help on. A few weeks ago, I
started to get slight missing when hitting deep yellow. In the past, I
have always been able to bump into slight red and not have any cutout at
all, just limited at that point

Whilst travelling my 9-5 suddenly developed a loss of power. There is no
smoke from the exhaust which hopefully means that the turbo is OK, but the
car power is now flat,it does not respond quickly any more. Has anybody had
this problem and do they know the possible cause..Steve
"Replace Key Battery" light, 2000 9-3...?13 Feb 2005 02:13 GMT2
Several of you responded to my earlier post this week concerning comments on
a '98 900 I was thinking of buying, and for that I thank you.
Long story short, I bought a 2000 9-3 today. It's great. One minor thing I
don't understand: when I start it, a message on the panel says ...
indicator not staying on12 Feb 2005 17:56 GMT3
my 900 T16 '87 with cruise con is failing its MOT (Major Overhaul Time) due
to my indicator switch failing to stay switched on when indicating right.
I 've got the switch off and when I turn it so gravity isnt pulling the arm
down again the switch stays on, however the wear in it ...

Gave it a burst in second yesterday and, bang it cut out with a big
jerk. Tried again in third and saw it creep up to the end of the boost
gauge so backed off. Umm....
Engine question12 Feb 2005 07:23 GMT7
What is this small air hose on the cylinder cover for? There is a round
1/2" hole in the cover with a rubber ring. A nylon fork in the hole branches
in two directions. I sensed a whiff of petrol in the car and found that the
nylon thingy had popped out of the hole. I put it back, ...
how fast does your Saab go?11 Feb 2005 23:29 GMT26
Dangerous question.
I've owned my 1996 9000 CS LPT for 3 and a half years and have 188,000 km on
the clock with an auto box. The speedo goes up to 250 km/hr and with the
open road speed limit in NZ at 100 km/hr, I've always wondered, how fast

Steady Whine In My Engine Compartment11 Feb 2005 16:07 GMT2
9000 CS turbo model.
Occurs when first starting out for the day, and thereafter randomly, though
always after starting up.
Doesn't sound mechanical (too steady; not a squeal too), subsides after a

I was lifting up a set of Saab wheel covers the other day which was stored
on the tiled floor in our laundry near the clothes dryer, and the picture

Advice Request!10 Feb 2005 18:09 GMT20
Hi all - great forum, makes very interesting reading.
I'm currently the owner of a 52 plate Vectra turbo-diesel.....sorry, sending
myself to sleep just typing that. It's perfectly competent, economical, goes
well, in fact it ticks most of the boxes. However, it bores the hell out ...
