9-3ss engines07 Feb 2005 08:14 GMT2
I was just on the saab uk website comparing my 2001 9-3se to the new
9-3ss models. There seem to be two different engine sizes, a 1.8l and a 2.0l
Could someone enlighten me why they call one model a "1.8t"  when it has a
2.0l engine??
AOL dumps newsgroups06 Feb 2005 18:21 GMT10
Yesterday AOL flashed a message to all users clicking on newsgroups to the
effect that it would no longer support newsgroups as of "early 2005" (see
below).
When I inquired about this, AOL said this new policy "was based on user
automatic climate control, times-out (turns itself off)06 Feb 2005 04:56 GMT2
2001, 9-5 automatic climate control, times-out (turns itself off), ten
minutes after car is turned off.  Climate control has to be switched on
after car restart.  What might be the problem and is there an inexpensive
solution?

97 900 SE T06 Feb 2005 02:10 GMT11
Couple of questions for a new owner.  Purchased new trunk lid letters
i.e. 900, SE, SAAB, becuase the silver finish is worn off of the old
plastic and I thought that this would be a nice touch-up.  I assumed
that these would have a thru bolt of some sort, but they are self
88 900 Turbo - key stuck in ignition05 Feb 2005 15:12 GMT12
My daughter's 88 900 turbo will not let you take the key out of the
ignition.  The car goes into reverse (5-speed stick), but the interlock to
let you turn the key all the way to "off" seems to be stuck, busted, or
just plain damn cranky.  The key turns as far as the accessory ...
What happened for SVC?05 Feb 2005 14:17 GMT2
What happened for Saab Variable Compression engine? It was a topic for
discussion some 5 years ago, and I believe they said it should be in
production around 2005. I think it received some awards and stuff.
I have not heard about it for long time, what happened to it? Wasn't

I've got a 1998 9000CSE.  It blows cold air (even in winter), unless

timing belt tensioner04 Feb 2005 15:54 GMT2
I have a 2000, 9-5, SAAB wagon.   I will be replacing the timing belt, and
the timing belt tensioner.  After calling my local SAAB dealership I was
shocked when he quoted me a price of $200 for the timing belt tensioner.
Does any one know where I could get this part cheaper?
Heated Seat Question04 Feb 2005 13:13 GMT12
My heated Front Driver's seat died on me today.(85 900T) Hopefully it's not
an omen.  Just curious how I'd go about troubleshooting the problem.  The
passenger seat still works, so I don't think it's a fuse.  Any guesses?  It
just went out for no reason.. I've been using it a bit ...

2001 9-5, front rotors question03 Feb 2005 03:41 GMT4
I was quoted $200 for a pair of OEM front brake rotors at a Saab dealership
but I found much cheaper options on the eBay. Any experience with
aftermarket rotors: Zimmerman, Brembo, etc.? What are the better brands? Any
advice on pads? Where to shop online?
Saab newbie03 Feb 2005 00:24 GMT49

ELECTRIC OIL PRESSURE SENDER WANTED B202 ENGINE02 Feb 2005 23:51 GMT3
I have a 1985 T16  Aero (SPG in the US) for which I need a dual pole
(two spade terminals) type electrical oil pressure sending unit to fit a
B202 engine.  It has to feed both a VDO oil pressure gauge and an idiot
light.
