Can a modern Saab gearbox seize?22 Apr 2005 22:16 GMT15
Just wondering whether it's possible for a modern (1991) Saab gearbox
to actually seize? The box on my 9000 cs 2.3t has been whining for a
while, and now it's louder and more like a hum. Happens at all speeds,
in all gears and even when coasting and with the engine off.

9-5 crankcase ventialtion CVS22 Apr 2005 19:09 GMT3
I'm considering buying a 2001 5-spd 9-5 wagon. It has a warranty but I'm
concerned about the CVS issue. Has it been resolved? Is there a retroactive
fix? Is it covered under warranty? Thanks.

1994 900SE turbo (coupe) Ball joints22 Apr 2005 18:12 GMT15
I have a 1994 Saab 900SE turbo (coupe).  The VIN is
YS3DN35N6R2034639.
Recently, the front end started clunking over bumps.  The noise sounds
like two pieces of metal hitting, or something being loose.

Saab is a great car designer, something we all know. But did you know they
make some of the most beautiful aircraft in the world as well ?  Check out
www.dappa.nl/lulea.htm to see some amazing shots of their Saab Viggen, taken
near the polor circle this months.
position steering wheel 900021 Apr 2005 03:50 GMT9
Must the steering wheel (the horizontal part in the middle) have to be
exactly horizontal (with the dashboard) when driving straight?
Advanced driver training course20 Apr 2005 18:21 GMT6
I took an advanced driver training course in NH last weekend, as it was
sponsored by one of the local Saab dealerships.  They supplied all the cars:
9-3s, 9-5s and 9-2s.
Wow...it was incredible day of near constant adrenaline rush.  High-speed
Returning of the steering wheel after corner20 Apr 2005 17:22 GMT1
I know that the steering wheel has to return to the straight position by
itself after a corner.
Should it return almost or fully, beacuse I have to help a little bit at the
end to prevent to much cornering.

My 900 Needs a Cup Holder19 Apr 2005 17:12 GMT31
I have an '85 900 that's desparately in need of a cup holder. Have
there been any aftermarket ones made for this year? Or, maybe, does
anyone know of any plans that will instruct me on how to make my own?
I don't have any kind of console between the seats (just the ignition
Best tires for '94 9000 CSE?19 Apr 2005 11:38 GMT6
It is time for new shoes on my '94 CSE I have stock 15" wheels and have
been running Dunlop SP5000 sports on it for the past couple of years.

If so what else?
alternator terminals18 Apr 2005 21:59 GMT1
This is for a 1986 9000 Turbo with a Bosch alternator.
My battery wasn't charging so I pulled my alternator.  After checking the
brushes it was obvious they needed to be replaced.  I did that and was in
the process of putting it back in when I noticed one of the wires that was
