Anyone replaced turbo charger on '01 9-5 SE? For how long have you had smoke on startups after that? I put ~300 miles and it still gives a cloud of smoke when I start. My dealer told me that after turbo replacement I'll see some smoke cause

This week I receive a letter from Saab USA stating that a small percentage of certain Saab engines could fail due to oil"sludge" accumulation. My 9.5 HOT engine was one of the models affected.

| Umm...where is my Oil Filter? | 07 Jun 2005 04:44 GMT | 23 |
We have a 2004 9-3 sedan, and being the shade tree mechanic that I am, I thought I’d change the oil on this beast myself. Well, after 30 minutes of clambering around....I could not find the oil filter!

| loss of hydraulic pressure/fluid | 06 Jun 2005 15:34 GMT | 3 |
I have recently had a loss of a lot of hydraulic fluid in my 85 C900 Turbo. Knowing that my clutch often hit the floor, I knew it had to be my clutch master cylinder. I had it replaced about 3 weeks ago, however.. I'm still losing a lot of fluid.(I have to fill the brake ...

| Saab hood logo ornament | 05 Jun 2005 00:37 GMT | 16 |
I parked my 1998 900 SE 2.0 Turbo on the street the other day and was horrified to discover that someone had scratched off most of the paint off the little disc with the Saab/Scania logo on the hood. When I was done with calling all the worlds and other worldly curses

I have a 1985 900 which is badly in need of repairs and/or replacement of shift linkage for the manual transmission. I've looked at some of the Web sites suggested in the past and most don't list anything for models that old.

| Wheels on new Saab | 04 Jun 2005 13:11 GMT | 43 |
We've had a Saab 9-3 Linear since last year. The wheels are beginning to look pretty dirty. Regular automatic car wash doesn't get them clean. What do you recommend for cleaning/polishing them?

| oil drain plugs on C900's with auto transmissions | 04 Jun 2005 10:24 GMT | 3 |
I've just checked under my donor car's manual transmission and the two drain plugs are clearly marked as 'gearbox' and 'engine'. On my 1985 900i with auto transmission there look to be two drain plugs where on the manual transmission there is one, and both aren't labelled.

| 9-2X discounts | 04 Jun 2005 05:13 GMT | 11 |
The local Utah dealer is offering $7000 incentives on the 9-2X. I think the list is in the low 20's. What can this mean aside from poor sales? I'm really worried about the brand. Think I'll hang onto my 2002 9-3 for

| Alternator replacement | 04 Jun 2005 04:01 GMT | 7 |
Well, my alternator passed to the great beyond as I was exiting a freeway. Fun stuff. It had foul electrical smelling smoke coming out of it. Now, I have changed out a few alternators in my time, but never on a

http://www.detnews.com/2005/autosinsider/0505/20/A01-187008.htm - GM shifts strategy on brands. I wonder what the heck this is supposed to mean. Another article on GM's strategy shift was at Wall Street Journal today, and no mention of Saab. Not a word.
