| Anybody parting a C900? | 24 Jul 2005 03:45 GMT | 2 |
Exhaust pipe rubbed on the fuel tank and melted a hole, patched it up with caulk but I want to replace the tank. No go at the local salvage yard, they had a couple 9000's but no 900s.

| Oh god, what do I do about the C900 Cab. | 23 Jul 2005 12:08 GMT | 17 |
After contacting the seller about the car, he said he wasn't sure whether it was LPT or FPT but other visitors had said it was full, but have a look at his website for better photos. I did, and I'm less than impressed.

| 9K "knock knock"... | 22 Jul 2005 22:43 GMT | 1 |
Heard an unusual and alarming noise as I finished my 40 mile drive to work this morning. Difficult to describe.. first I thought it was a hole in the exhaust, but it didn't respond to the engine revs / throttle.. just a constant beating. I

We've recently begun to notice a distinct smell of gas in the cabin of my wife's 1990 900. Can anyone give me suggestions on the first things to check before I take it in to the shop to have them drop the fuel tank and check everything over. She's noticed a drop in gas mileage ...

| How tough is it to replace rear calipers on a 1990 C900? | 21 Jul 2005 15:45 GMT | 11 |
I'm curious.. my sister in law's rear calipers went out the other day, and I've been picked to replace them for her. I just want to know what kind of job I'm gettng myself into, and what tools I might want to have handy other than the trusty metric and star socket sets.

| 2001 9-5 Check Engine Light | 21 Jul 2005 02:19 GMT | 1 |
The check engine light comes on intermittently. After a few annoying months, I had the codes read and it pointed to the catalytic converter. But I can't see the catalytic converter going bad after 50 k miles. Also, the light goes off for a few days and then comes on again.

| Valve Stem Caps | 21 Jul 2005 02:11 GMT | 2 |
Someone took two of my valve stem caps recently. The caps weren't fancy, just the plain metal ones that came with the car. How pathetic do you have to be to steal value stem caps? And why stop at two when there are four for the taking!? Not only was the person (or persons, ...

| ideas for restoring UV-damaged paintwork? | 21 Jul 2005 00:10 GMT | 7 |
My white 1983 Saab 900S needs some attention to it's decaying paintwork. The paint finish seems to be suffering mainly UV damage in that every time I wash the car, the water is turning milky white so I presum the pigment is slowly being released with more and more sun exposure along ...

| Oil Filter | 20 Jul 2005 11:36 GMT | 15 |
I have a 2001 9-5 4cyl. What oil filters are recommended? I use Mobil 1 Synthetic (or the Castrol equivalent). The local dealer sells a "SAAB" oil filter in a light sky blue cannister for almost $8. The local auto parts store is able to identify over 6 different oil

| Brake Rotors | 19 Jul 2005 23:41 GMT | 16 |
I have been told that replacing the original rotors with slotted or perforated rotors will result in cooler rotors, less warping, if any, and reduced wear of the pads. Is any of this true?
