9000 ignition switch31 Oct 2005 18:49 GMT3
1996 9000 Aero manual.
I am getting occasional trouble with the ignition not switching on,
and lighting up the instruments, and therefore not starting, although
the engines turns over well.
Saab 9-5 main beam relay fails.  Dealer charges 90 UKP to 'locate fault'.31 Oct 2005 14:29 GMT4
After a brief stop last monday evening both main beams on my Saab 9-5 (new
mid-1999) failed to work even though they'd worked fine previously.  Each
beam has own fuse, and very unlikely both would fail together, so sounded
like the main beam relay.  By phone the service guy at Saab ...
Mystery part.30 Oct 2005 23:22 GMT7
I ordered a new alloy rim for my 9-3 from partsforsaabs.com the other
week. When it turned up, this was in the box with it:-

cold start lag in first gear29 Oct 2005 19:57 GMT14
I have recently bought a used '97 Saab 900 SE 2.0 turbo, automatic, for
my wife.  The car has 145000 km and has been running great until the
temperature has dropped recently and we have noticed a problem which
concerns me.  The temperature drop may be just a coincidence, though,
"Born from Jets" ad campaign - Fact or Fantasy?29 Oct 2005 08:27 GMT3
Both Saab and G.M. have aircraft experience.  GM's a bit dated, going back
to WWII, but certainly not irrelevant.
So, the Sixty-four Dollar question is this:  Does the Saab automobile
feature any bona-fide aircraft engineering in it's design or is it
RE: SOS 9000cs29 Oct 2005 08:19 GMT1
Many thanks for your thoughts.
Got the AA (UK roadside assistance club) man to have a look at it. He said
it was the "air mass meter". He's disconnected it for now and he said it
should run OK until I can get it replaced.
S.O.S. '92 9000CS29 Oct 2005 07:27 GMT3
Last couple of miles on the way home tonight I noticed a problem with my old
faithful 9000CS 2li.
Seems reluctant to pull in the lower gears. Kept feeling it might stall at
the lights, not the normal smooth idle, but jumpy and eratic. Felt like it

Where did the guts of my boost recirculation valve go?27 Oct 2005 20:45 GMT1
Yesterday I was following behind a B-double (a semi pulling two full size
trailers) at around 100-110km/h.  I saw my opportunity to overtake safely
so I changed down to 4th and gave the old girl WOT. As always I was
rewarded by that lovely feeling of rapid acceleration, the B-double ...
Saab biopower featured on UK TV27 Oct 2005 17:31 GMT3
Only a passing reference but a feature about the use generally in
Sweden of various sources of biofuel on the BBC programme Newsnight
showed the new biopower Saabs.
The *star item* in the report was a train fuelled by biomethane made
Washer bottle access - 900027 Oct 2005 13:54 GMT8
My 1993 9000 has sprung a leak on the washer bottle - I'm hoping just on the
hose. Would anybody know of an easier way to access the bottle than removing
the inner wheel arch liner please?
Cheers!
SID Removal 1999 9-3 (Can't ffind anything)27 Oct 2005 01:48 GMT6
Found lots of info about repairing the SID
Can't figure out how to get the thing out to take a look at it..
It's gotten really bad with the season change.
Do you have to remove the entire dash to get it out?

1995 900S Head Gasket25 Oct 2005 16:15 GMT5
Lately my car has been leaving oil stains all over the place, and they have
been growing bigger. I had a friend check it over, and tell me that, it's
probably leaking from the head gasket.
Has anyone had any problems with this? Is it expensive to fix?
