It's actually simply a revamp on this existing platform.  And an ugly one at
that.  The 9-5 always had an elegant timeless style.  It didn't need a major
engine wont turn over20 Dec 2005 03:17 GMT23
After not using my 1998 Saab 9000 CSE for a few days of 15 Farenheit
degree weather, I started the car up.  It was a bit slow in turning
over, but started fine.  I let it warm up for about a minute and when i
wanted to drive it, many electrical things were not working, like the

93 9000 - turning off TCS19 Dec 2005 20:43 GMT6
Looks like the pesky TCS is acting up on my 93 9000CSET. I made a right
turn, shifted to 2nd and suddenly no power. Engine at 1000rpm but felt like
I was in 5th gear. Had to juggle gas & clutch to get any forward motion.
Pulled over, turned off engine, restarted, everything was ...
Saab depreciation in the UK18 Dec 2005 14:24 GMT4
Does anyone know if there's any publically available figures on
depreciation of Saabs in the UK?  I know all the lease and finance
companies nust use estimates for calculating their rates and GMV
values.  However, a reasonable amount of googling has turned up
replacing serpentine belt and tensioner?18 Dec 2005 03:38 GMT6
I have a 2000 SAAB 9-5 wagon that I brought to the dealer last week for
a weird sound it was making.  I was told the serpentine belt needs to
be replaced, but then he also said that if you take off the belt you
must also replace the tensioner because it is more likely to fail if
Keyless Entry17 Dec 2005 23:40 GMT2
I have a 2000, Saab 9-5 wagon.  The remote feature to lock the doors, and
lock the trunk does not work any more.  I can open the vehicle remotely.
Does anyone know what could be wrong?.  Should I have the vehicle scanned
for trouble codes?
Saab radio security problem17 Dec 2005 17:16 GMT4

This  happened again the new  battery was disconnected.
Replacing DI Cassette17 Dec 2005 13:30 GMT8
A coil (I assume that's what it is; it's a black thing shaped like some gross cow's udder) snapped off my red DI cassette. I have another one; the coils appear to be part of a black underpiece that is just screwed into the red top; and that cassette is defective. Is the transfer ...
cold weather...front struts, round 2 (04 9-3ss aero)17 Dec 2005 13:24 GMT2
As the cold weather has once again reached us here in New England, I find my
front struts getting noisy again.  It's usually just on cold
mornings...drive around and I hear a low-level, but certainly audible,
clunking sounds coming from the front struts.  Later in the day as the ...

9-3 Dash Loudspeakers?16 Dec 2005 16:20 GMT6
Does anyone know if anything special is needed, or should most 3.5" full
range speakers be suitable to replace the front speakers
(dash/windscreen) in a 1999 9-3 convertible?
cheers,
Air Conditioner tension pully15 Dec 2005 17:31 GMT2
Are these difficult to replace?  Silly question.  How difficult is it
to replace these?  I heard a weird rattling noise in the engine
compartment one day and when I pulled over there was the pully still in
the belt sitting there looking stupid.
