| [Saab c900] Start, Fires, Dies | 31 Jan 2006 22:46 GMT | 6 |
Ho hum. After a productive afternoon replacing the defective heater valve I had my 1985 8 valve injected 900 idling away quite happily to get up to temperature so I could check for coolant leaks.

| What's the Deal $5000 9-5 | 31 Jan 2006 22:07 GMT | 11 |
Hey . I'm being offered Saab 9-5 2000 model for $5,500. This car has 120,000 miles on the clock, clear title history and seems to be in good condition. Problem is the price is so low that I'm worried there might be something wrong with the car. Seller claims car's perfect but I

| how to work out why car seems to not 'sit' properly... 1985 8V 900i | 31 Jan 2006 10:51 GMT | 4 |
For ages I've been suspecting that my 1985 900i has a suspension problem in that either both rear springs have shrunk from having too much load placed on the rear of the car by previous owners (perhaps using trailers), or something else.

| Window deflectors and minilite wheels - C900 | 31 Jan 2006 09:07 GMT | 2 |
My 1987 C900 has Saab window deflectors; how do I remove them without breaking them? A not very good picture of them: http://www.sweller.dynalias.org/images/white_saab.jpg

| Looking for my next Saab | 31 Jan 2006 01:23 GMT | 42 |
OK, so I've had my first Saab for 3 years now. A '92 dark green 9000CS LPT with leather etc. I can't say she's ever let me down in a big way, but she's beginning to show her age (160,000ml) and with the amazing value of these cars in the UK I'm tempted to try the full pressure turbo ...

| Mildly entertaining SID tale | 30 Jan 2006 18:23 GMT | 9 |
Some may remember how I asked, about 6 months ago, about missing pixels on a SID display (pardon the redundacy, since the acronym stands for system information display, I guess). Shortly thereafter, on a scheduled service, the SID unit was replaced entirely under warranty. Just ...

| Thud sound 9-3 2005 Linear | 30 Jan 2006 12:11 GMT | 3 |
This is odd, it is winter here in Ohio so after I have started the Saab and driven anywhere between 5 and 10 minutes, there is a thud sound in the roof as though a rock had hit the car. My guess is the metal in the roof is expanding due to the car heating up ????

| broken spring... | 29 Jan 2006 17:22 GMT | 2 |
Hello - I seem to have a broken spring in the front of a 1998 900S... I went over a speed bump that was really nastily shaped. I didn't think I was going fast at all and there was a rather big bang. I thought louder than on the way going in which I took at a similar speed.

| 9-3 falling gas mileage | 29 Jan 2006 15:49 GMT | 3 |
Any idea why my gas mileage has been dropping (LPT 9-3 5-speed, model year 2001)? It started from low 20s in town and now it is down to 17.2. I do drive short distances (~2 mi) but this has been the same while the gas mileage has been falling. It is winter here but I still think 17 ...

| 2001 saab 9-3 coolant fluid | 28 Jan 2006 18:42 GMT | 13 |
During a cold spell here (-24 celcius) my coolant level has dropped and SID is telling me to fill it up. In the manual there are no specifications on what fluid to use. It says saab approved fluid, but surely if something can be found with the same properties, wouldnt this do? What ...

| Seeking advice from Los Angeles Based saab enthusiasts | 28 Jan 2006 18:35 GMT | 4 |
Greetings one and all, I just bought my first SAAB, a '96 900 SE turbo Convertable, that needs minor TLC. I need to find a gas cap, replacement seatbelt for the driver, figure out why the perfectly good looking roof does not

| [c900] Clutch Pedal Travel | 28 Jan 2006 08:33 GMT | 8 |
I have a 1985 UK spec (right hand drive) 5dr which has a lot of travel in the clutch pedal before it does anything and it struggles to disengage with what usable travel it does have. Other than air in the system - it doesn't feel spongy in the way brakes

What should I beware of with a purchase of this car ? If maintained could I get an additional 200,000KM(125,000mi) out of this vehicle without paying an arm and a leg?

| Saab 900 2.1L v 2.0L engine | 28 Jan 2006 01:24 GMT | 16 |
Quick question, are the 2.1 L 16v engine directly exchangeable for a 2.0 L? Would an older 2.0 L Saab's emission and engine control system run properly if a a 2.1 L engine were dropped in? Thanks,
