Remote key fob problems...26 Jan 2006 22:44 GMT5
Just replaced the batteries on both keyfobs for my 98 SE conv and can't get
any response from them at all! The manual tells me to press the unlock
button at least four times before operation, but this has not helped.
Rather ominously the manual also informs me to replace the ...

Alternator compatibility, pulley swap25 Jan 2006 22:56 GMT3
My new alternator arrived today, but I'm a little concerned -- there's
a note on the part entry in the catalog that says:
"Notes: Bosch provides 2 different #s to replace this OE # on 900
models. Use AL 69 X (0 120 469 945) thru '87 ch#s H2008686, H3006971, &

The car is an '88 900S 16V, my girlfriend was driving and said it
started to overheat today while sitting in traffic but didn't get up
into the red and went down when the car was moving at a decent speed.
Tonight I checked the coolant and discovered it a bit low, added about a
SID and aftermarket stereo24 Jan 2006 05:10 GMT7
I am going to look at and hopefully buy the 900 convertible today. I
have a really nice stereo that came out of my Beetle, it is a Alpine
9851 head unit with XM and Ipod interfaces, a nice Class D MMats
amplifier, and a MMats 12" woofer in a ported enclosure. I would like

Potential New Owner and Member24 Jan 2006 01:49 GMT14
Greetings everybody. I am in the market for a new used car. I have been
a Volvo lover, and owned a '92 Volvo 240 wagon for awhile, it has 178K
on it and we just gave it to my 15 year old son, we replaced it with a
very low mileage 94 850 Turbo Wagon. For fun I had a 2000 Beetle ...

which would you choose and why?
fuel guage22 Jan 2006 22:20 GMT2
Recently the fuel gauge in my 9000CS (non turbo) quit. It has sprung back to
life a couple of times, but fails to return once the car is restarted. The
trip computer works fine which is how I've been gauging my tank. Any ideas?

Dumping my CD changer and Adapt and Ipod? 21 Jan 2006 13:55 GMT22
OK.... I need to fix my '97 900 "lost the CD problem" for the 20th and
I think it's time to try a new changer. But, for not much more than
the cost of a replacement changer, I can buy an Ipod and get much more
utility out of it both in and out of the car.
