Saab 900 Classic Timing chain issue22 Jun 2006 14:42 GMT13
I have a 1989 Saab 900 16v NON-Turbo with 155K miles on it.
Recently its begun to make some noises that appear to be related
to the timing chain. I was hearing some random but frequent "pinging"
noises when the engine was warm. The sort of sound you would get from
Just to thanks!21 Jun 2006 12:54 GMT1
A while ago I posted about the clutch problem I was having with my 9000
after it's MOT. I'd taken it back to the garage and they quoted me between
500 and 600 quid. Thanks to the advice on here (basically try bleeding the
clutch system) my car is running again........and it cost ...
bad drivetrain sounds (c900)20 Jun 2006 21:17 GMT23
I noticed a new sound today from my 1992 900S. It's a sort of rhythmic clicking
noise. It occurs only when the car is in gear with the clutch out. The
frequency changes with engine RPM (and therefore wheel speed), and is roughly 4
or 5 per second around 1200 RPM. I was unable to ...
Not so new new car?20 Jun 2006 15:45 GMT4
Does anyone have an opinion on this?
I ordered from the dealer a 9-3 Aero - Combi - Maxed out.  It's a nice
car and I got what I think was a great deal from the dealer.  To get it,
they had to swap with another dealer.
c900 cooling system issue on 1983 8VT20 Jun 2006 11:26 GMT7
I think the cooling system on my 1983 8VT has a problem. When I had the
engine running yesterday the coiling system boiled over (fan still ran
though), and what was strange was that all the hoses were hot except the
small overflow hose after the engine had warmed up.
Aftermarket navigation18 Jun 2006 12:32 GMT7

I just splurged and bought a 9-3 Aero / Combi / Tour / Cold.  This is my
first new car and 2nd Saab.
The only thing I didn't get was Navigation b/c it didn't seem worth the
Upgrading from Manual Climate Control to Automatic Climate Control (ACC) in a 2000 9-3???18 Jun 2006 10:00 GMT1
My vehicle is a 2000 9-3 base model that has manual climate control
(the AC/Heat panel with the knobs).
I know someone with a wrecked 1999 9-3 SE. I have pulled the ACC panel
from it and would like to install the Automatic Climate Control (ACC)
Changing a headlight for a saab17 Jun 2006 01:35 GMT5

What to check when buying a c90015 Jun 2006 21:15 GMT4
As mentioned in my other post, I'm looking to buy a 900 SPG.  When
evaluating it, what mechanically should I make sure is in good working
order?  The one I'm eyeing is a 1990 with 118K miles on it.  Tranny and
oil pan are already being replaced.  Thanks!
URGENT Advice needed 1997 9000 - AC SYStem exhaust?!?14 Jun 2006 19:44 GMT4
Just did a 240 mile run in 30 degree heatwave that has taken the UK by
surprise.  ACC on constantly all the way, no problem.
About 20 minutes after parking up I moved the 9000 again to get to my
beloved C900 which had a completely flat battery....another story I'm

Are there timing marks on the same place on the the flywheel of an
automatic, as there are on a manual?
Thanks
2.0 Turbo Engine Overfilled with Oil13 Jun 2006 01:45 GMT24
My son just bought 1 97 900SE Turbo. I changed the oil about 2 weeks
after he bought it from a GM dealership. I measured the oil and there
was nearly 8 quarts in it, instead of 4.1. Could this have caused any
damage?
1993 CSE electical problem13 Jun 2006 01:05 GMT5
The problem is that windscreen wiper & wash (www) will not disengage unless I
remove fuse 7.
However, fuse 7 is for headlight wiper & wash AND horn, something different.
You see the problem. To stop the www running continuously, I remove fuse 7, but
