DI failure:  happy ending19 May 2007 08:33 GMT7
I have an '02 9-5 Aero with 77k miles on it.  Folks in this group recommend
carrying a DI cassete in your trunk, because it WILL fail sooner or later,
generally between 75k and 100k milres.  It has two failure modes:  a Check
Engine light, or *poof* you're walking.
Radio Interference from Rear Defroster in '02 9.5 Aero16 May 2007 14:45 GMT2
Not so much interference as complete and total static nearly anytime
the rear defrost light is lit.  Turn on the car, radio on, rear
defrost on, drive a minute or less, radio cuts out, hit defrost
button, radio back on until such time as you hit the rear defrost
How long should it take to install pulley and damper...15 May 2007 18:14 GMT9
...for the serpentine belt on a "94 Saab 9000 CSE? Three hours seems a

of doing it myself, but it looks a bit tricky.
Any advice appreciated.

Personally, I think it look superb! I'm not sure how that style would fair
on the 9-3SS, or the 9-5 which ought to be more sophisticated, but for a

I have an eight year-old  9-5 which has now covered nearly 89000 miles.
Could somebody please let me know if any timing belts/tensioners are
due/overdue for replacement.
I've been told nothing is needed as the belt is a chain belt. The manual is
Central locking '91 90011 May 2007 23:50 GMT3
I just got the car (German basic model, 220kkm great condition). The
central locking operates intermittently. I searched past posts, but
didn't see any relating to this particular vintage. Can anyone point
me to the controller? Any other advice?
9-5 AirCon - always trying to warm me....09 May 2007 10:20 GMT1
I used to have a 9000 CSE, which when it had done about 100,000 miles,
started always trying to send out warm air.
This was apparently fixed by replacing the air temperature sensor in the
dash.
2005 Saab 9-3 Linear electronic window and locks no longer work09 May 2007 05:43 GMT8
I don't know why, but both are dead.  I have checked the No.6, 30A
micro fuse located in the rear electrical center and it was good.
There are no other electrical problems that I have noticed.
Can someone help me find this or am I looking at a visit to the dealer?
9-3 2002 Crank Position Sensor07 May 2007 23:08 GMT9
I have a 2002 9-3 that I suspect the Crank Posisiton Sensor has gone.
The starting is inconsistent...but it always does after a bit.  Does
the CPS seem like a possibility?
How does one go about changing the sensor?  Is there any pictures or
